How long do banks have to deal with a hardship case?

Hi I was just wondering can anyone tell me how long the bank gets to deal with a hardship case?

Iv heard about this 8 week thing but is that 8 weeks from frist letter or 8 weeks from you have a meeting with them to go over income and out goings?

I sent off my frist letter didnt hear a thing then sent 2nd still didnt hear. So I rang them and was told the manager would phone back she never did. But got a letter about 3 days later asking for loads of info on income and out goings and a meeting with me.

So my son did up a big file of stuff for me and had the meeting 3 weeks ago this monday. But still no word back.

So was wondering is it 8 weeks from the frist later or 8 weeks from the meeting?

Sorry you had to have a meeting. Didn't think that was usual. Sounds like they mean business though.
Abbey kept sending me pointless letters, apparantly to keep within the response times. They came through in the end.

My frist letter saying I was in hardship was sent on the 12/02/09 Then my 2nd letter was sent on the 02/03/09 after not hearing from the bank.

They where rang on the 07/03/09 and where ment to ring back but didnt. Got a letter on the 10/03/09 saying thanks for your letter on the 12th lol. Then got a letter dated 23/03/09 asking for loads of info and meeting which we had on the 30/03/09 at 11am.

So to me if it goes from the frist letter there time is well up they had 56 days its well over 60 now (AM I RIGHT)

If this is a case is there anything any where with the 8 week rule on it? As I cant see it in the waver! If I ring or go to the bank id like to make sure I have the full facts so they cant try and pull the wool over my eyes.

Not a thing I tryed ringing this morning but kept getting v.mail. Am I right in thinking it sould be done by now

Join the club.My folks have been phoning every few days and always get told that the bank agree that they are in hardship but they are in the system and it will take time to process their claim.Still no letter informing them of this or any kind of offer from the bank so how they can process something that they havent offered beats me.:mad:
