Yup. Nice one. You must be pretty pleased with your progress.

Thanks benchin440 & Generali - After putting on 6 stones with 2nd child it has very slowly come off with loads of effort & not giving up from my part. A lot of weight stayed on my stomach which made me look pregnant & people would give up there seat on the bus for me. I would not say "no, I'm not pregnant I just look like it". I still look pregnant but very much less. When I pull my stomach muscles I don't look pregnant so I need to get it with the sit-ups.

I've gone on my first diet ever at the age of 38. I'm just looking to lose 5kg but the Aussie car lifestyle is catching up with me.

Good luck. Sit ups are good.

Indeed, well done Happy sad. Situps ARE good, if you do them properly. The very best stomach exercises I've used on an exercise video are the NYC ballet ones. :) The voice over is awful, so watch them through a few times so you know what you need to be doing, but its great tummy routine :)

Mrs Generali has the NY Ballet vid. It's the only one I've ever done that hurt the next day. And it really hurt.

ROFL. Its good though. Despite barely moving for such a long time my stomach is still pretty taught.(under its protective layer of insulation) :D Once upon a time I was fit and had a personal trainer who could never believe how effective that was for the stomach area when he asked me how I was able to beat him, time after time after time on sit ups, without tiring.

I need to see if I can get on dvd for when I'm strong enough (although depsite everything, )

The thing I've learned as a result of moving to Aus is that if you want to lose weight/not put it one then walk every journey under a mile and go for a long walk at least once a week. 20 mins of sweating is all well and good but it doesn't beat walking 5 miles a day!

Aussies walk from the house to the car port for exercise. Poms walk to the station or the shops. That's why Aussies are a bunch of porkers, IMO.

Walking is what I miss about city living too. People drive down their long drioveways sometimes. I know loads of dogs who run to the boot of the car not to the front gate when their owners get their coats on:rolleyes:

I walk a mile each way to the horses in the morning and if I can and have nothing to take, in the evenings. (its less thn that as the crow flies or the most direct route, but I find uneven surfaces very difficukt so walk the long way round on the road) On flat ground I can walk pretty much all day, but not fast enought to really get my heart pumping. Hate it, hate this stupid broken body. Need a personal trainer agan who can make me mnove when I cry. Ironically. probably didn't need the one I had when I ws fit though!

In Aus some people take a plane to their mail box. Lots of us need a car to get there as it would be all morning there and back!

I think you don't really need to walk ultra fast, just enough to keep warm.

PS What's the broken body thing? Sounds a bit horrid.
