The biggest boom in history is not going to be followed by the shortest bust in history......simple really!!
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Have house prices reached the bottom, yes they have.*

    * I'm fed up with saying they haven't so I might try a few days on the 'other side' instead.:D

The only way to recognise the bottom will be when we are on the other side of it and prices are rising again. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it certainly spawns many experts, especially on here!

All in the spirit then, I will say they haven't and still have around 6% to go icon9.gif

I'm sure the papers and "experts" kept saying this in the last recession.....for 6 years
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

No Steve, you are so,so wrong, that's it, the drop has finished. In fact just to prove my point, I've been on Rightmove today, and 25 houses have gone SSTC, and my bank sent me a mailshot saying that due to QE, they can now offer me a 90% mortgage fixed at 3.99% for 10 years, even if I had bad credit !!, well my credit file shows a score of 985/1000 so I should be good for it.

So I'm having a day off work tomorrow, to 'fill my boots', I spoke to my boss who said 'take as long as you like, the recession is having no impact whatsoever on business'. Happy days.*

    * Am i doing well Steve, or do you think I'm going over the top a bit.
