Well done sophiesmum! I didnt even remember til this afternoon that I have sw tonight doh!
Fay, do the plants arrive in one piece?! Do you send them via anything special? Do they last even in 1st class? My surprise squash may not be a squash, the seedling leaves are not remotely the same as the ones on the packet....hmmmm may have to take a pic and get some opinions....
And yay have managed to get some money that was owed to me - £600ish - so am now on the look out for a cheap banger lol. Ive only had 3 years to save up for a car *smacks self on head*
Cleosmum - seedleaves don't look like proper grown up leaves - so hang fire til you get your first set of 'true leaves' which are the next set coming.
To be honest my plants are usually complimented on how wonderfully they arrive -
Fays recipe for sending plants:
I just put them (washed roots) into a bit of damp kitchen roll
- then put them into a bit of a sheet of newspaper folded around them bit like a fish supper which i then make a bit wet with a quick once over under the tap.
- and then put them in a bag - usually a ziplock one - wiht a bit of air for boingi ness - and then into a jiffy envelope (recycled of course)
et voila - slap in the post 1st class - nowt special
- as long as you don' t post them on a Friday or a Saturday - they will get there within 24-48 hours
its dark and damp and cushioned so they arrive OK.
If in doubt - (can't believe I am confessing to this) I worried about it too and posted myself a plant first time.
PM me and I can post you some seed tomatoes as a dummy run?
I sometimes post more delicate things in takeaway boxes again washed and wrapped in kitchen roll.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Andan
How are you tomatoes getting on - mine have two sets true leaves now as well as seedling leaves but they are very small still .
Hi Fay, tomato plants are doing ok, still very small and fragile looking but they do have two sets of leaves on them, so i think they are getting there.
Am two courgette type plants down though as some slugs got through the small crack at the bottom of our front door whilst i was away. A bit sad, but at least the majority have survived.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j
