This is a sumamy of the experience I have had with both the Mobileshop and quidco...

I ordered a phone through quidco and mobile phone with a promise of cashback. That was a year ago !!. since then I have written to quidco on about 6 occasions and they have say they have written to Mobileshop 9 times about my money without even a response.

I also had a cashback deal on the phone contract with Mobileshop and I missed the first voucher date by 10 days but when I tried to contact them they were totally unprofessional and I would NEVER recomennd them to anyone.. so please be careful

These cooperative deals are only as good as the word of the trader and if that means nothing then dont expect anything back !

If you don't stick to their terms what do you expect??

If you turn up for work 10 days late - you don't get paid!!

Yes your're right on the vouchers but the way they handled my enquiry was very poor. The main point is on the cashback. Quidco have been chasing the company for nearly a year and have had NO replies to their emails..

did it show as 'tracked' on Quidco and they never paid up, or it is a case where it never got tracked and you had to fill in an enquiry?

I shall be issuing a claim to the court to get my cash back back !

will let you know how it goes, but basically my case is that the term is invalid.

the contact was agreed that I pay x amount a month, no metion of redemptions, only when I got the phone that the term of contract was changed and found that I would have to pay a amount 6 times the advertised price then claim back the rest via redemptions.

If they prove that the term is valid, then I have a few other bits and pieces of law I shall run by the judge on the day.

Though after 4 complaints and now a pre court notification to the phone company, then more phone calls this last few days they don't seem to belive me that I will sue.

This is very jumbled. What's it all about?

Surely you could just have sent it back to them if you weren't happy with the T&Cs? I bought my latest phone from Mobileshop - have sent off for cashback claim number one, they acknowledged it and hopefully it'll be paid soon...

If the voucher was sent in ten days late, they are within their rights not to pay up.

    Anyway, good luck! :j

"hopefully it will be paid up soon"...... good luck indeed.

I have be informed after contacting some sources that its often common practice for these companies to not pay the cash back amounts to the account, only to credit them near the end of contract thus rendering them use-less unless you stay with the contract for a further agreed period(another 12 months !). even then the amounts credited on count against amounts above the line rentals so you still pay an amount per month.

    Which sources? Which companies?

This thread is about one company, and it has no such policy.

No wonder the company you are talking to isn't impressed by what you will say to the judge. What judge? What type of case? Will they listen to generalised gossip and hearsay?

I have an O2 contract taken out recently with Mobileshop, and I took that decision based on the excellent feedback here on the company.

I have used Mobileshop on many occasions and found them excellent. I have a cash back phone at the moment and have had 3 of the 4 repayments made bang on time, with 4th still to come.

They are one of the few I would use for cash back
