It doesn't get much simpler than a ketchup sandwich which my H loves as a uber quick snack!
Now all the talk of bacon and eggs is making me hungry. I want my dinner!!!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I'm guilty of overcomplicating food -too many recipe books, too much choice in the supermarkets, too many different cuisines to choose from -all marvellous sometimes but I think it makes us overlook the pure and simple.
Some of my favourite simple meals
Cheese, oatcakes and apples for lunch
Baked potatoes with cheese or baked beans and salad
An omelette (and a glass of wine);)
Cheese on toast
Ham sandwich
Hard boiled egg, tomato and an apple -pocket lunch
Cod and mash with peas
and best of all -Toast with butter and marmite
Sometimes I don't know when to leave well alone, I feel I can't just grill a piece of fish or meat and cook some veg to go with it, I must add something -spices, a sauce other ingredients.
Hi Thrift Lady]
My favourite "cant be bothered to cook" meal is instant noodles - bought for about 30p form the asian supermarket - good with a few fried mushrooms on top. Makes you hungry just thinking about it.

My mother used to have ketchup spread on toast too, and my dad still has the odd corned beef and ketchup sarnie
I must admit, pretty much my entire week's food is simple as am too lazy to put much effort in during the usual courseMy fave simple oddity tho is roasted potatoes with tinned spaghetti (which I otherwise don't like, strangely enough) and bread and butter to make sandwiches with them... mmm...

Lots of lovely foods on this thread! I'm very partial to strangled eggs (as my DD used to call them) on toast. Also soft boiled eggs with toast soldiers, pasta with just butter, pasta with pesto, bacon sandwiches, and home-made chicken broth with tiny pasta shapes cooked in the broth. Yum!0
