Sometimes the simplest meals are the best aren't they?
Like beans on toast with a bit of grated cheese. Or egg and chips:DJust to win anything would be great!!0 -
Pasta topped with baked beans and grated cheese. Now that's simple and I LOVE it!
Oooh just fancy a crumpet now! Haven't had one for a long time!0 -
My OH made a weird concoction (which he does regularly!), well i thought was weird, but mmmm, ommlette, with mushrooms, bacon, and rice and oven chips with soy sauce.....nice.0

I once went to a pub for my dinner, and it said sausages in giant yorkshire pud in onion gravy.
Should of seen my face when they brought it to me... was the size of one of those puds in a 4 pud baking tin.. and about 3 chipolata's!! i was really looking forward to it too.
Went home and made egg and chips hahaI am now debt free :j:jsince January 2009

I so agree Mrs Jones :T
I'm guilty of overcomplicating food -too many recipe books, too much choice in the supermarkets, too many different cuisines to choose from -all marvellous sometimes but I think it makes us overlook the pure and simple.
Some of my favourite simple meals
Cheese, oatcakes and apples for lunch
Baked potatoes with cheese or baked beans and salad
An omelette (and a glass of wine);)
Cheese on toast
Ham sandwich
Hard boiled egg, tomato and an apple -pocket lunch
Cod and mash with peas
and best of all -Toast with butter and marmite
Sometimes I don't know when to leave well alone, I feel I can't just grill a piece of fish or meat and cook some veg to go with it, I must add something -spices, a sauce other ingredients.0 -
I just love a jacket pot with beans and grated cheese - can't beat the simple things in life!
Ohhh with a splash of worcester sauce - mmmmmm gonna have that tonight now!Lydia

Have you tried the whirlpool? Using slotted spoon whirl round a few times then drop egg in. Also a drop of vinegar is meant to help keep the egg together? Apologies if i have misunderstood.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
