Have you tried the whirlpool? Using slotted spoon whirl round a few times then drop egg in. Also a drop of vinegar is meant to help keep the egg together? Apologies if i have misunderstood.

No but i will try this thanks x

    Simple food is great!

...beans on toast with a fried egg on the top (DH would have a fried egg on the top of most things if I let him!)

    jacket potato with almost anything

    bowl of noodles

    pasta, butter, salt and pepper

    chip butty(sandwich)

cinnamon toast (spread with butter and sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top and then toasted)

    anything on toast

any toasties (in toaster bag from 99p shop)

    banana butty

    sausage butty

    oh the list is endless!:rotfl:

Last nights dinner was simple . Cous cous with chicken (yum without, and with a few of my adaptations on the recipe - adding roasted nuts, chilli and lots of black pepper), and a fritatta made with frozen veg. FInished cous cous and fritata for lunch today

Tonight i am having what I call a "Luke" sandwich - named after my friend who first made me it. 2 rounds toast , then couple of bits of bacon, top with a fried egg, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Top with red sauce if desired, and add other slice of toast.

    Eat with a bib on.

Egg toasties are pretty good. Just crack the egg in, top with other slice and make as a normal sandwich. It kind of scrambles the egg.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Fried onions are the food of the gods. Who needs lobster thermidor when you have an onion and a bit of dripping? :D

Or fried potatoes and onion with a sausage or a bit of bacon:drool:

I love poached eggs but can never make them, always end up spread over the pan..

I love THESE :D Bought some in Canada a couple of years ago ( the most wonderful kitchen shop in Niagara-on-the Lake, drool drool :o) Since then Lakeland have started to do them. They work every time, perfect poached eggs;)

Bacon on crusty bread with grated cheese on top then heated till it melts....now that is fantastic
Beans and cheese on brown bread toast....yummy
Sausage and chips with spaghetti or beans
    Omelette and bacon
Philadelphia on crackers ....quick tasty lunch
Sausages in onion gravy with mash and homemade yorkshires...ooh drooling now lol
    Chip and egg.......the classic
    Potato waffles and fried egg
Homemade lentil soup and crusty bread....made a huuuuge pot tonight :)
Homemade scotch broth....with either chicken or lamb depends on the budget
Tomato soup(Heinz of course) and faithful ole crusty
Raviloi and homemade chips.....OH loves this...so does my pocket
    Macaroni cheese...with extra cheese
Homemade pizza(using left over dough for yep you guessed it...CRUSTY)

    Simple dessert.....

Pancakes heated topped with banana, vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce(i personally use dulch de leche as it cannot be beaten)....this is sensational and comforting and relatively cheap if you buy big vanilla and do something with a big bunch of bananas(bread, bannoffee)

Meringue crushed up with strawberries, cream and strawb sauce added.....drooling again

Vanilla ice cream with a flake crushed up into it.....1 min to make but oooh oooh to eat

    Choc sponge in custard

    Rice pudding and jam

Ooooh i could go on and on but i am drooling and need to make some egg and toasty soldiers lol

Hope this still comes under simple food (as it's a sort of merge of three simple meals) but we love

Cheese on Toast...with beans on top...with a fried egg (or 2) on top of that! Yum Yum!

We prefer Heinz Mean Beanz, but have started making our own adding curry and chilli powder to normal beans (you get the same effect).

    :)
