Whitefriargate branch in Hull today had a tall standee next to the (shock horror!) No. 7 counter, packed to the rafters with clearance makeup. All items were £1, and *not only* were they happy(!) to take a 200pt voucher out of the mag/ 250pt lilac bag voucher for each one, *but also* my friend used a £5 off No. 7 voucher - and got 5 things *with the blessing of the No. 7 lady*!
Among other things: lots of Full Impact Mascara in Plum, a lovely red Stay Longer nail-varnish & a clear glittery (ex-Christmas) stock special edition, and the matching Liplicious glittery transparent gloss.
They also had lots of Melon/Kiwi Roll On & Liquid Wax reduced to £1.50 on another clearance standee. I'm too much of a jessie to use wax but had printed off the voucher from the Prospect Centre ACM & not chucked it, and my friend used it even though it was in my name & there is no ACM at Whitefriargate - a nice 150pts, so essentially freeeeee!
Did I mention they had magazines in too? :O)

michelle36 wrote:Help again!!!! I've just noticed on Boots website that if you spend over £10 on No 7 you get a free mascara - so does that mean that in store if I spend £15 I will get the free lilac bag AND the free mascara - or is that just being greedy ???
I've a mailing marked 'we've cut 1000 prices!' which tells us about the new No7 offer in store. 'Free No7 mascara when you spend £10 on No7 cosmetics and skincare'. I'll make a sweeping assumption that it is the one on the website (Black Lift & Curve), and that the stores are shifting their remaining lilac bags until then. The website tends to mirror the stores if the timing differs a little. I think this mascara is pretty good as I had the handbag size from the red bag last year, and would recommend it.
Would love to hear news ofhow it will work with bigger purchases - do you get more than onedoes it work with suncare (think it will from the link-save on the website)how does it interact with the remaining 250 and 200 point vouchersand anything interesting that you find out
Enjoy folks! So many glitches, so little time...0 -
Watford Harlequin have loads of lilac bags still, but no organisers or lipgloss sets. I picked up 1 skincare treat set, with a lilac bag and used the brita voucher for a £3.99 classic filter, and some baby shampoo, got another £5 voucher.
Used that and the 250 points from the bag to get another skin treats set and bag, then my last voucher to buy myself an eyeshadow set, which effectively cost me £1. I have one 250 point voucher left which I will probably use on a tan wipe.
Over the last 2 days I have built my points up from £26 to £61 through various offers and glitches, thanks to all of you guys :j
I'm planning on treating myself to something, and not being much of a "make up" person up until now, I have a fantastic selection of make up to experiment with - I'm told I need some decent brushes - any recommendations? I've got the No17 blusher brush, I quite fancy the Ruby and Millie travel set in a gold pouch, but don't know what I need - any advice???0 -

The voucher as I understand it is for when you buy a brita filter jug of some description. Most of these are likely to have a value greater than £5. Using a voucher when not buying a Brita jug could see you legitimately land in court if Boots took a serious enough stance (this is probably unlikely though I have to say, but did see a teenage girl in handcuffs in boots today, most likely filling her pockets with goods.)
I can understand the Skin Clear 89p face mask glitch as the voucher offered was for this product range and it is Boots's error.
But PEOPLE *INTENTIONALLY* USING VOUCHERS FOR AN ITEM THEY ARE *NOT* PURCHASING (simply because they get 500 points out of the deal) IS JUST PLAIN *WRONG*.
Yes Boots made the tills accept the voucher no matter what is purchased, but I presume there is a technical reason for this and Boots SA's are supposed to check. Ok so the SA's fault for not checking, but still abusing a system for monetary gain.
I would say taking advantage of the "glitch" is pretty much the same as altering a price label, or take for example the scam mentioned in the following link.
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_3270764Police say Baldino used homemade bar codes to buy electronic gadgets at prices far below any legitimate discount. The 19-year-old is facing three counts of being naughty - one of them a Class 5 felony.
Baldino was detained by Target security Wednesday after he purchased a $150 iPod with a bar-code label of $4.99.In the broadest sense, a fraud is a deception made for personal gainIn criminal law, fraud is the crime or offense of deliberately deceiving another in order to damage them — usually, to obtain property or services from him or her unjustly.0 -
does anyone know if there are any no7 summer palettes left in any of the south Wales Boots stores (eg Cardiff, Newport etc)0

Poor multi-national corporation... are you a shareholder or something!
Boots is still getting peoples business anyway as they are buying products at the same time. No one is stealing or committing fraud as this would constitute obtaining goods by deception. It clearly states on the voucher what you need to buy and they know what you have bought. This shows up on the till, when you pay, as well as when they pack your bag for you so it is the company's responsibility to check this, just as it is your own responsibility to check your change!
Also, there is no 'money' involved, merely 'points' from Boots. Which are clearly only redeemable at Boots!! In exchange for individual customers' demographic data! A small price I'm sure they're willing to pay as they obviously cannot be bothered to fork out for newer software to smooth out the glitches!
I'm just a bit disappointed I couldn't take advantage of this offer myself, especially as I do need new filters!Sexkitten
Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first

I saw loads of Lilac bags in Croydon, but generally don't buy No7 stuff, although I did get a £5 voucher, so may be tempted too, now!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

anewman wrote:Do they have the often mentioned numbr 7 organisers at £9.99? I am wondering if I should take a little trip to colton rather than go to leeds and have an SA tell me I can't have the Lilac bag. (I have nothing to buy from the pharmacy bit though, lol so have to hope they let me pay anyway). Yes I'm male but mothers day is coming up hehe.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the most diplomatic way of handling the situation if an SA refuses to give the lilac bag with an organiser and the £5 no7 voucher? Do I just ask them to try scanning it as a friend got it yesterday, then if they refuse I ask if I can cancel the sale (and then go elsewhere)?
Just like to remind you regarding your above post, that you are, in your own words, obtaining that lovely little lilac bag by deception. You might want to go back to Boots and return that £5 you owe them, or you might find Miniluv go after you!Sexkitten

I'm not claiming Boots is a poor company. But bringing wealth into the equation to justify what is essentially theft doesn't look good. I wonder if the teenage girl I saw in handcuffs earlier thought quite the same but just went about getting what she wanted a different way.
While its not money it is still in the end goods you are not entitled to unless you purchased the jug in the first place. Your argument is kind of like well ... boots didn't bother putting a security tag on this, so they don't mind if I steal it.
Boots already have your demographic data and offer you 4 points per pound you spend, sometimes more. Why do you feel they are obliged to give you 500 points you are not entitled to unless you buy a filter jug?!charlotte3 wrote:Just like to remind you regarding your above post, that you are, in your own words, obtaining that lovely little lilac bag by deception. Did mention that later. Didn't really obtain it by deception as the price label on the organiser does in fact say £15How was I to know when I got to the till hehe.
If you could use a code online which gave £1000 worth of boots points when spending £20 (which would obviously be a mistake) would you?! And would you happilly spend the £1000? I am guessing you would.0 -

It is not deception or stealing. It is clearly written on the voucher what the deal is and they know what you are buying. There is NO deception. as i have already stated just as it is your responsibility to check your change, it is similarly their responsibility to check the voucher terms; since when has it been the place of the customer to police the supermarket's business for them?
In a court of law, there is no legal standing, since it is Boots fault for not checking the voucher - perhaps if you were printing off fakes, I could agree with you and they might have some standing, but this is not the case and so I suggest next time you consult someone who actually understands the law, rather than making misguided assumptions.Sexkitten
