    Hi Robbedofmymoney and thank you.:A

The provisional date is for next Thurs 2 pm Gwent Crem, a wake in one of dad's fave farm locals.
We are having a plot in dad's fave church, this is what he wanted, its going to be a lovely service, and as we have family in the police force, their colleagues are also coming along to pay their respects, and my in law a pilot, there will be lots of uniformed folks.

Dad was everyones friend and loved by many.:);)
Yeah come along.:D;) Bless you and thank you.

Hi Finatra, that is lovely of you, thank you.:A

My dad always said to us, we must carry on and he would not want anyone moping, so mum told me today to get on with it LOL, bless her, she is bearing up well, although heartbroken, but had lots of family around her, even though over the last year dad was either in or out of hospital or care home etc, mam did get used to it on her own, but its a different feeling when they are really gone isn't it?

Dad would hate to think if I did not carry on, so I must honour his wishes.;) He was a right joker GSOH and even when in pain he never once complained, I am going to miss him so much and love him forever.
I have wrote dad a letter with all my feelings and thanking him for being my special and unique dad, and one in a million.

It really helps posting my feelings out on here, your all good friends and I think a lot of you all, thank you XXXX

Also just to let you know that since my last post, my lovely dad have now passed away, its a blessing really due to what he was going through.
I am so glad I had the chance to see him, hold his hand and tell him how much I love him, and kissed him loads.

Not too bad really. We are looking around for property to move her down nearer here. Although she does not want to leave her church she wants imput from us and we cannot give her all she wants. It takes four hours out of my day for example to drive over there and do what needs doing. I love spending time with her but the journey is a nightmare.

Di did your dad go downhill gradually or was it quite sudden? I know he has not been too good for a while now. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Glad things are not too bad for you and your MIL Max, and I agree you must do what is best for you all, that is a long way to go every day, I'm sure she will eventually come round to the idea. Good luck here anyway.;)

Dad was off and on all the time, the last few weeks he could not even walk and he did need to be helped with all feeding, although he got very frustrated indeed, he started calling me Ann, that is my mum's name, so I do think he worsened over the last few weeks.
However, last Friday he seemed very with it, although his chest was very rumbly, the doctor came out and said "another chest infection", so more antibiotics and of course oxygen was almost 24/7.

Saturday he seemed the same, very rumbly chest and the staff said the antibiotics will take a few days to kick in.
Sunday late morning the home rang and said dad taken a turn for the worst and he was rushed to the general hospital, OMG I never seen him so bad, they x-rayed and his right lung was literally plastered with pnemonia, this is about 4 times he had had this over the last few years too.

So we were warned later in the afternoon that 12-24 hours were crucial and it would be best to let him go. So heartbreaking, I held him and didn't want to let go, I was kissing him, telling him how much i love him, poor dad couldn't speak, he was on oxygen staring into space and gasping and struggling on, but I knew he could hear me, he was trying to say something, that was when I broke down and had to leave the room, only one family member each side was allowed, then a few hours on he passed away, a tear in his eye gripping mum's hand.

Sorry for rambling on:o, it does help talking, but I do now know he is at peace and out of pain and probably looking down on us joking around as usual lol, that was dad.;)
