It's the upset this causes that is most distressing I know the state my daughter was in the other week when someone had cloned her card. Luckily the bank sorted it straight away, but she was in a right state on the phone

  • I got a letter from mastercard yesterday saying that I had tried to use my pin number three times and failed and that i had asked for a new pin number. I havent (I never learnt my pin number thought I wouldnt use the card) so I hadnt tried using my card and pin :eek::eek:I phoned the number on the letter and told them this, they went away and discussed with supervisor and they couldnt say why the letter had been sent out I am checking the balance all the time now. Although they wouldnt be able to use the card as is has virtually no credit left on it (not learning the pin didnt work):(

    Hi Showergirl.
Yes the nightclub was in the town where he went on Boxing night, and the pub where these were found is that of about 5-6 miles away, so it just goes to show that his wallet was purposely swiped from him, apparentely the police did say there were a few others on the same night who also had their's nicked, they said these pick pockets are very clever people......, scary isn't it?
Oh and these items were found last night.
Sometimes they can be dropped Di, my son did it but swore it had been nicked! We rang the police and everything and got a crime ref number BUT it turned up that he had dropped it and luckily it was found by someone that handed it in (his mate!!). I know when I used to go out with a doorman from one our clubs he always said that the amount of wallets and purses/bags coats etc found at the end of the night of binge drinking (as a lot do when they go clubbing) is an eye opener. Especially girls bags!!!

The same thing happened with my neice as well, she was lucky to have received her bag back with all the items still in it, and this was about a month on.
Yes its a possibility he did drop it, and there were also others the same night.

If this was dropped in the nightclub though and found approx 5 miles away with just a few of the membership cards without the wallet 3 months on seems quite strange though.

He never goes to this other place where these were found and not even have to pass that way, as its the other side to town.

You would also be surprised how many people put their wallets/purses on the roof of their cars and drive off.

We give the option to either pay at the pump or at the kiosk at the petrol station I work at.

Often the customer will pay at the pump with their debit or credit card then put their wallet or purse on the roof of their cars, fill up their cars then get in and drive off with their wallets/purse on the roof.

They then ring to ask if it has been handed in and when we check the cctv we realise what they have done

This guy we know he had to attend a meeting a few days back, he was rushing to get there and he realised he left his wallet on the dash of his car........., so of course when he got back it was gone, the side window was smashed in and it was gone, not sure what he lost from his wallet though, but the police said they do have CCTV in that car park and were going through it.

I suppose if you have a lot on your mind it is easily done.

It's a wonder we've not done something like it the stress we have been under with our ppi reclaiming as well as everything else
