hi di, sorry to hear about your dad, hope he feels better soon.its awful when you see someone suffering and there is not a lot you can do, i did this with my mum and i wouldnt want to do it again. just be there for him xxx
Thanks amersall.:A
Your right there, its been a tough few years, between my youngest sister, mum and dad they were all diagnosed with the big C within 3 months of each other also, so since then its been non-stop.
I do often think back when dad used to be so active and always telling me and my friends stories as a child, we used to have all our friends round, as I am one of a large family, the house was always packed out, and everyone used to love dad's chips lol.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Di. Sorry to hear your news. My dad also has dementia and is in a Nursing Home. We go see him every weekend (some good days, some bad). Keep your chin up though as the good days always outweigh the bad ones. Thinking of you. Jo. x0

Thank you too.:A My dad is 80. Thinks he's 21 again some days and that makes us laugh. He also fell over and broke his leg - reason he was assessed to go into the Nursing Home! Mum couldn't cope on her own and me and my siblings are scattered all over the country although we do see them every weekend. Just as well we don't know what's in front of us eh? Jo. x
Aww bless him.:A
I know they can do some funny things, and not realising they are doing it.
My dad has a zimmer frame, then next minute, its as if there was no problem, he sort of walked off the one day without his zimmer lol.....:D
It is difficult, I am one of 8 children and we all try to help all we can, but even though dad has a community nurse, mum is the type to keep refusing professional help.
When dad was in hospital, he got some of the patients out of their beds and was more or less hallucinating, he told the patients the nurses was the zombies......:o, he got the fire extinguisher from the wall and how he managed that then I do not know, as you know they're heavy and he threw it past the security through to the exit door......
Half hour later he could not remember a thing, but the staff called mum at 2 am in the morning to go down to the hospital to help out with him.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

On another note, have you had confirmation on the job front for OH?0 -
As I said before just as well we don't know what's in front of us. I'm one of four, three brothers and me. I'm the youngest and the closest to them geographically so BIG responsibility. My daughter has told me she just going to cart me around in her pocket if anything happens to me, bless her.

Yes your right Jo, its best not to know what is ahead of us, I prefer not to know.;)
Bless your daughter.:A
The company that hubby was waiting to call, apparently they are still awaiting the contract, they say they will be in touch, but best not to rely on waiting, however, there is a closing date on one of the vacancies he also applied for this week, so fingers crossed.;)
I will post up with plenty of cyber drinks when he gets lucky lol, thanks for asking though.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
