Niagara Falls appears to have taken up permanent residency in ma wee nose. I think I’ve sneezed a million times today so far, maybe slight exaggeration on numbers . Its driving me round the bend that I have to keep taking my oxygen tubes off to sneeze and blow my snotty nose. :o:o:o

  • Hi Di, I've got a welsh computer............honestly normally it says "en" on the toolbar mine has "cy"................Daughter is exactly the same we had a rough night again, about to get the pjs on. So tired I dont how you do it. My computer keeps timing out and I lose my posts. I am so glad things are progressing well for your Dad coming home there is always something that doesn't go smoothly but think opportunities not obstacles.

No snow here but very cold a heavy frost this morning quite festive. Hope you have a lovely time with your sis:T:T:T
    Love x:A
  • Describing yourself as a "pathetic wimp" is so off the mark. "Funny, motivational, full of fun, genuine and full of love" are much more fitting for you my Tartan Gerry.

You are feeling carp because of the head cold I do when I get one and I dont have the tubes to worry about.

Sending you a "Glesga Kiss" to buck your ideas up. Love x:heartpuls

Hello Di, my brother seems to be doing well, in his first 100 days post transfer he has only be in hospital twice, once with a tummy upset and the second time for swine flu, they sent him home as soon as they found out thats what it was!
Only took a two course dose of tamiflu to clear it up and seeing as his immune system is not good that was quite an acheivement.
Hoping he will be well enough to join a family gathering on Boxing Day.

    KEEP WARM!

Hi Pinknico, I am sorry to hear that your brother has been going through it. But by the sounds of it it all sounds good and positive hoping that you have a lovely family time together.

Sorry for delay, my neighbour was in visiting...:confused::confused:

As glandular fever is a virus and Antibiotics do not work against viruses I don’t know it the doctor prescribed an antibiotic for you, it says that as the first symptoms are flu like that a lot of GP’s prescribed an antibiotic until blood tests come back. At first, glandular fever is sometimes wrongly diagnosed, for example as a bacterial throat infection or tonsillitis. If you are given treatment for a bacterial infection with the antibiotics ampicillin or amoxycillin,
    Symptoms

high fever (temperature above 39C or 102.2F Check temperature frequently
    very sore throat;swollen tonsils, with a white coating;
tiredness and lack of energy; Very common
loss of appetite and weight loss
muscle aches and headache. Very common

    less common symptoms,

Jaundice check for yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes

Its best to take Paracetamol, or ibuprofen to ease pain, headache and fever.

Consume vitamin C, Zinc tablets to boost my immune system

    Ferrous fumarate 210mg tablets:
Take one tablet twice a day. Age: from 18 years
Side effects.. Regularly cause upset your stomach, causing sickness, heartburn, and possibly diarrhoea or constipation.

Might be best to use an alternative iron salt is another option.

    VITAL

It is often tempting not to drink very much if it is painful to swallow. A lot of people tend to suffer mild dehydration can make headaches and tiredness much worse. Maybe you could get some made with 100% fruit ice poles or ice lollies. Oranges, lemons, grapes any fruit is great for recovery as well as LOTS of water which will clear the virus away gradually

Gargling mouth with salty water and throat lozengers
