ash could be spewing out for months and is likely to be a massive negative trigger
Who can tell? As I understand it, it depends on how violently it's spewing. How high the ash is thrown into the atmosphere determines how far it travels and this determines the knock on effects on flights etc. Less powerful eruptions would be unlikely to have any great effect outside of the local region I would imagine. It's not like volcanic eruptions are uncommon in the world as a whole. For example Mt. Etna has erupted several times over the last few years.
It could get worse though as another volcano in the region (Katla) is potentially a lot bigger.0

Ash in the atomosphere. Ive not seen coverage but obviously its hard to predict natural events and/or chaos theory.
Big negative but I think its mostly a tourism factor as industry has other meansETFX Daxglobal Coal Mining ETF
The currencies are what confuse all this I think.
Coal etf had a range of 20% from feb to april which is quite alot for a fund I think. Even more so is the 70% since July
Maybe your more used to small cap companies and all these are blue chips, a bit like rdsb moves like a supertanker

Digger, a recent update on the coal front worth reading. I think the coal prices rises have been driven recently (like most resources) by the shut down in mines due the CC and the ongoing stimulous in China. It has subsequantly been affected by a number of supply chain issues (primarilly in Australia). And thirdly, I believe the ongoing demand from China but now also India will maintain (or even increase) the demand going forward. You need to understand that India was not a large coal importer until very recently and it looks as though it will continue to expand its needs.sabretoothtigger wrote: »
On the agriculture front, one ot hte easy ways to get exposure is to buy in to Potash. Whilst it is abundant and can be easy to mine it nonetheless a critical resource in the farming world. This article gives you a bit of insight in to the main players and demand.
I've been monitoring Sunkar Resources (SKR) as exposure to potash but I need to review the companies fundamentals further as financing or meeting their licence agremeents may be weighing on the SP.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

The way the share jumps up like that is pretty amazing. It might just be set to do something similar again soon so dont take too long to decide on it
They must have quite a story behind them, tiny market cap explains some of it.
short term dilution ?.Sunkar Resources , the Kazakh phosphorite company, rallied sharply yesterday on confirmation that an overhang had been cleared.
The group said it had been informed by the administrators to Lehman Brothers that their holding of 7.7m shares had been placed in the market. Sunkar's shares rose 16 per cent to 30¾p.
 Hows their debt ratio

a few talking about BEM being a possible multibagger sabre. I don't hold as holding enough AIM but on the watchlist when cash becomes available. Huge Iron ore reserves apparently.0

There's a post on iii from gregory12 with an analysts update (GMP?). I've not spent any time reviewing or validating but they have a risked SP of 65p (current 22p), and a de-risked on up near 400p.sabretoothtigger wrote: »The way the share jumps up like that is pretty amazing. Lots of 'ifs' and 'buts' between these two.
Part of the reason for the recent SP decline is that the company informed the market that they would not be in a position to produce until September this year. Not only is this a delay but they also need to get their license re-agreed (I think they were supposed to be producing in June(sih) this year).Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

a few talking about BEM being a possible multibagger sabre. I don't hold as holding enough AIM but on the watchlist when cash becomes available. Huge Iron ore reserves apparently.Beowulf Mining (BEM) announced that it had agreed to placement of 40,000,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company at a placing price of 2.5p per ordinary share to raise £1,000,000 before expenses. The net proceeds from the Placing will be used to finance the commencement of a planned drilling campaign at the Company’s two major iron ore projects (Ruoutevare and Kallak), the assessment of potential opportunities for commercial expansion and general working capital purposes.
Tiny little company, smaller then fred goodwins bar tab. Trebled their shares issued in five years. Hard to judge exploratory business, it looks good in your opinion?
If they had actual claim they surely already reflect the value, I guess they will need further funding once discoveries are made
