The nice people at BA blocked the seat next to me in Club when I asked - meant I got the middle pod all to myself!

I agree in general about airlines blocking certain seats for passengers with status, but it's also about people booking through a 3rd party (sometimes even direct with the airline) and not realising or not bothering to go in and select seats where they can (many times for free and well in advance)...there are plenty of decent seats left after the !!!!!! get their crack at things.

I'm amazed at how many people just turn up at the airport, not having pre-selected and/or checked in online and are then surprised when they get crap seats...I guess because I'm all about the holiday research and find it odd when people don't look into the various aspects of their trip in advance.

I'm also wondering about the 2006 thread being bumped.
