I would like to begin wearing a little foundation coverage as I'm recently getting some adult acne (pre-menopausal, I suspect), but my biggest problem, apart from hating the feel of the stuff on my face, is that I have fair skin with pink Celtic undertones and most of the foundations these days are made for the American market, which means they are yellow-based.
Now I know that the yellow-base is supposed to look more 'natural', but I find it turns either chalky, if too pale, or a horrid orangey colour on my skin.

The makeup consultants always take one look at my dark eyes and hair and insist that one of their shades will be the right one. Wrong! They are usually quite surprised to find that none of their shades are correct. Even Prescriptives couldn't get it.
I'm fed up with wasting money and with searching for what seems to be the holy grail of skin cover......everyone says it's there somewhere, but nobody knows where.

    Any suggestions from here?

These products are not sold in shops. They used to only be available by party plan in Australia. Now they are over here and are available from the site below. All Grace products are made from 100% natural ingredients-even the chemical names, you will find are natural products. The main ingredient is aloe vera.

I got a sample of Clarins Multi Matte Foundation (oil free) recently and people have commented on how my skin looks. I have oily combination skin and it stays on all day. Will be going to buy some that is unless I can blag some more samples to save my money a bit longer!

Hope you dont mind me posting here...but it is on the same lines...ie foundation...Im sure lots of you will think I am a terrible mam as I want advice for my 12 and half year old daughter.

To me she has a fabulous complexion as LL kids do but is in 'a crowd ' at her new secondary school where they are experimenting with make up (although not allowed) at break. I have got her a very pale lip laoss and mascara for sensitive skin...I KNOW A KID DOSNT NEED THEM but when I was a kid I wasnt allowed make or felt comfortable discussing anything of the such unti we...well over 18 due to my mothers attitude and vowed I would never be like that to my daughter.

So.....Ilove following the boots thread she now wants a pale coloured foundation/mousse for even coverage. As 1 year old she was involved in a terrible accident with glass to her face and neede over 100 stitches to her face at mount vernon specialis unit.

You can still see the stitch marks on her upper lip, forehead and cheek.

Although this she says dosnt neccessarily bother her , she is more worried about a couple of emerging spots she just wants to put on a bit of foundation for a ''clear'' effect if you know what i mean.

I have bought oodles of dermablend, but she really isnt bothered about the scars just wants an even colour.

Im just trying (probably too hard too be a good mam)

PLEAS PLEASE what would you recommend??

;) I know your Daughter is young but having breakouts of spots is'nt very nice, my daughter had the same problem but she was a few years older and
she wore foundation by Neutrogena, please try to get this if you can, not many places stock it now but it is very good, and they have light shades for
fair skin,In Boots they still sell it it can be found near the face cleaning products. the next best foundation is Maybelline Dream Matt mousse, which evens skin tones out and you only need a little for a perfect finnish.

    good luck.
