Best Foundation Hunt, Value For Money And Durability!!

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this? why don't we have a Health and beauty board? :confused:

But anyways, i had seen the Loreal Infallible on television which states it should last upto 16 hours and to tell you the truth it only lasted for 3. So where do i stand on this? should i email them and ask them why they state this?? its such a waste of money!! :mad:

1. Is there a foundation that actually does what it says??
2. Best durability for all day cover without the CAKE effect??
3. great value for money??

let the search begin!

  • I was tempted to try this one - glad I didn't now. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear - does last a whole work day - I only buy it when there is a gift offer. Usually sell the gift items on ebay to get some of the money back as it is £21 a bottle - but my current bottle I have had since beginning of November - it is nearly empty but use it nearly every day. If you find an EL counter with a Brow Bar you can have your eyebrows "done" which costs £8 but they will take that £8 off any product you buy as well as give you the gift.

    I really love Rimmel Hydrasense. It's only about £5.50 but it goes on so well, no cake effect or clogged pores. Its last quite well too. I've tried more expensive foundations, but much prefer Hydrasense.

    I use the Maybelline Dream Matt Mousse ~ £6.99 at the moment in Boots although I stocked up when it was at £5.49 :D

    I have tried so many different ones and most of them don't live up to their advertising. This one is perfect for my skin tone and I look as good as I can when I leave the house. There are no mirrors at work :rolleyes: so I don't need to see how awful I look til I arrive home :p

    I use no7 3 in 1 its a foundation powder and concealor all in one it's priced at £10.50 and available at boots.
    I never pay full price though i always stock up when they have no7 vouchers, which they have now. Get yourself down there.
    £5 off no7 voucher available when you spend £10 instore so with £5 off it's most certainly a bargain. Hope this helps you

    I would recommend Prescriptives Virtual range (Skin = light to med coverage, Youth = med to full and Matt = med to full). It is long lasting and contains no oil. It costs £22 instore but once you know which colour suits you best you can buy it off ebay. The last one I bought (via a US seller) only cost me about £12 inc postage!!!

    I too use Estee Lauder DoubleWear, i have tried allsorts over the years but this is about the best i have tried. The cheaper versions i found made my skin feel dry and looked caked. I recently tried a sample of Rimmel Recover and although it was good, it wasnt a patch on DoubleWear. I think you can get away with cheapie foundations when your young, but when you have seen and waved goodbye to your 40th birthday you need to pay a little more.

    Also, it helps if you give your foundation a light dusting of face powder to set it, but avoid the eyes.
