  • Time for a to do list. I'm a bit overwhelmed at the minute with stuff that needs done.
    • Withdraw money at cashpoint
    • Go into abbey; withdraw more cash for transferring, ask about getting card unlocked for betting sites and also PIN for phone banking
    • Deposit all cash in business account
    • Transfer to joint account (There must be an easier way of doing all this cash juggling, I just need to work it out somehow)
    • Make a plan for easier cash moving
    • Go to currys and cash in vouchers for actual present for dad (leaving me with an extra £15...happy day!)
    • wrap all presents ready for visit on Tuesday
    • make birthday card for OH (tuesday...presents are sorted and wrapped)
    • wash the car
    • Do the recycling
    • Change the bed
    • Get all laundry and housework up to date
    • Deliver last few christmas cards to neighbours
    • check for free bets arriving
    • use them!
    • sign up for bingo britain
    • do final christmas tesco shop (even the thought fills me with dread)
    • pay extra £2.80 into business account (forgotten from about 3 mths ago)
    • finish all wrapping for visit on weds
    • Thursday...relax with a glass of mulled wine and wait for the big day to arrive...
I think that's it but I may have forgotten stuff.

God this diary is useful. It really helps me sort my head out.

Merry Christmas everyone who's reading! :xmastree:

  • I have a plastic greenhouse that isn't too good at maintaining a steady temperature but is usually warmer than outside (and occasionally gets blown away!). I start the seedlings off on every windowsill in the cottage then transfer them to the greenhouse then outside. It got a bit like a nursery in here last year. Maybe I need a real one? I saw one being given away on freecycle once but didn't email in time.

Usually they all catch up and sometimes its best to stagger them then you don't have a glut. As for location add on 2-3 wks to what the books say. You can always use fleece to prtect them once they are out and warm the ground up before you plant. HTH

  • Did some more shopping yesterday. Went £60 over budget. Oh dear. I guess it could have been worse but now need to work out how to claw it back.

I think I may have paid off more debt than I could afford to. I'm so carp at budgeting. I need to get better at it. Monthly stuff is fine; it's the 'now and again' expenses I really can't get my head round preparing for.

On the plus side, christmas is bought, wrapped and ready to deliver. We have enough food to last well into January. We've also been invited to a 'soiree' at a friend's house on Christmas eve so that'll be great.

Had a row with a man from abbey on the phone yesterday who claimed that withdrawing £300 in cash from my account was reason to be suspicious. I kept asking him why the cash machine let you do it if it meant my card would be frozen. He couldn't reply. I hate the abbey. It's sorted now though.

Anyway, I'm waiting for money to be transferred to that account from a betting site. They need to hurry it up a bit so I can figure out what's what on the finance front. Like I ever know what's going on but you know, I'm trying. :o
