PEN PIN, We're not sick of hearing about your health, we all care about you on here.
I'm sorry to hear you're going through such a bad time. The hosp appoints are more important to attend than the funerals so don't tire yourself out by trying to do all 4.
Wishing you well Pen Pin. ((((((((Huge Hugs)))))))))

Bethebee - what a magical moment, finding the ammonite!

LB has once again woken up looking like a Romanian orphan - all eyes. I'll try and cuddle him into two naps today.

Today's list is get delivery from Mr S, make things for the freezer, make Persian lamb stew for tea (if all has been delivered - I'll let you know how the lamb and rhubarb combo works out), change bedding, make a further foray into the foothills of the ironing mountain and cuddle LB.

    Hugs to all.

Penny Pincher Sorry you're not feeling great but I'm not sick of it either you're doing amazingly :A ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

Wet here today but no thunder so everyone slept well. I had forgotten about 3 swimming towels that I'd put on the line though so I'll have to find space for them to dry today along with the usual 2 loads :o

I'm going shopping this morning to replenish the food stocks this morning although as I've baked every day for snacks my baking supplies are desperate for a stock up ;)

Dinner this evening is chicken in barbeque sauce & rice. The recipe is one that my Mum used when I was little so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I remember it being very tasty & you can make as much sauce as you like so can serve it with rice, marinade the chicken first & grill etc. Very versatile :D

DH is home from work & in the bath before he goes to bed (he only had a couple of hours yesterday ,at 5pm, in case we heard about my Dad so I'm insisting today.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

Used to post up until late last year when I fell off the os wagon :o

Anyhow I have decided to jump back on as I am hoping to give up work in June so I can stay at home for the last year before DS goes to school.
But in order for me to be able to do that I need to sort our finances out
With the help of this fab site I know I can do it

The weather look pretty miserable here today (We had a thunder storm too in the early hours of the morning) but with abit of luck it should brighten up as I have 2 loads of washing to get done.

Not got to go into work today until 3pm so will prepare dinner for tonight which will be spaghetti bolognese and make some fairy cakes with ds

I must also do a list of all items in fridge, freezer and cupboards and meal plan with them. I am hoping that we have enough to last for at least 3 weeks.

Think I will end now and go and start on my ironing before DS wakes up.

    Take care everyone x :)

    morning all!

PP - keep posting, if we dont hear from you we only worry and we're not fed up at all - we care (((hugs))) xxxxx

sunnygirl - fingers crossed for good news today x

No thunder here but lots of rain last night - poor DH will be soaked on the milkround.

I've got my uncles funeral at lunchtime - hope the rain holds off.
Later I am working from 5 till 10pm as they couldn't cover my whole shift.

Toad in the hole for DHs tea - HM from the freezer and I'm taking a HM cheese and potato pie into work for my tea. Butternut squash and sweetspud soup bubbling away on the stove for lunch.

Have had a quick clean round, just need to vac the bedroom later.

Have not been feeling brilliant the last week with a sore throat that wont shift, always seems worse at night and in the morning for some reason.

Hope everyone has a great day,

    take care x

 I have just bought a new u bend for my kitchen sink. I have remembered to get one that includes inflow for washer. Ebay is my friend.

But how easy is it to fit it?

Now have to go back to LB's DVD - Beebright. It is absolutely brilliant for his age group with numbers and shapes and colours and letters. It is brain death for adults.

PennyPincher - sometimes you just have to let off steam. If you have to moan somewhere, there are worse places than here.

Just skimming the thread. Hugs to all.

    Morning all

    BB an ammonite, fantastic.
PP sorry you aren't feeling too good.
Hubby's had his cooked breakfast & been dropped at work, the lodger has been fed & walked, the fish have been fed & I've had my toast & a cuppa. WM is on for 3rd time, 1st 2 lots are on the line, it's damp out but very blowy, so it might dry a bit.
Today I'm going to empty under my bed & vacuum as hubby wants to swap the matress with the one from the spare room as it is firmer.
Today I need to make a start on some bracelets for W.I. we are having a stall at a charity fair in June, I have loads of beads but no wire & no findings & can't really afford to spend money buying them, I know the bracelets will be sold for pennies. I've asked on the jewelery thread & been given loads of good ideas.
    Breakfast - toast
    Lunch - sarnies
Tea - liver, bacon & onions.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

(((penpin))) - hope things get a bit easier for you. Please don't think we get fed up hearing about you. I'm sorry that you are in such pain. I also agree that your hosp appointments are the ones you need to concentrate on getting to next week.
Betheebee - that made me shiver -I'm delighted for you that you experienced such an amazing thing. I love stones - always on the hunt for perfect (to me/ my mood at the time etc) stones and have such a collection all over the place. A;lways had pockets rammed with them when I was little too. This (9 miles) is the furthest I've ever lived from the sea and love hunting along the sea shore. Your experience with the ammonite is terrific.
Plans for today - go out and buy border to finish off bedroom. They are not my most favourite things as I prefer plain walls but there are old marks where last border was (people in house before me put up borders everywhere when house was new and it's been a nightmare removing them). Also plan to repaint the kitchen cupboard doors. They are yellow but need a touch up now to freshen the place up.
I hope also to continue my flinging out trend. The charity shops are doing well (and I took 8 bags there last summer, so now I'm on to the hhhmmmm couldn't decide last year stuff) and I also have a colleague who has moved into a place on his own so he might want some casserole dishes, cutlery etc. I'll ask anyway. Need to get into loft while I am still in this clearing frame of mind as I tend to get overwhelmed dealing with the stuff up there (a lot belonged to my parents, who died 13 years ago. It's already all been moved into this house and not touched but sentimental ties are strong. I really don't want to move it again, especially as we are aiming for a minimalist move and also moving back to Scotland - haven't lived there since they died, so all kinds of emotions just may surface.)
    Ok,
    so...moving swiftly on....
DH has 2 days off, tomorrow and Fri so we are planning on paint jobs and general tidying and organising. Also going to estate agents/ asking them round. Busy busy. We're also planning a vist over to my stepdaughter and her 2 boys. That's a full day as it's a4 hour drive. Don't want to put dogs in kennels though as the older one is doing well but is still on her stiff hip med so I don't want her shut up in a kennel for hours at a time.
Right - off to shop for border. Have some mail to post too and buy some eggs. I think MrM has a deal on free range. I usually buy locally at a farm but that's a few miles in the opp direction and I need them to add to the salad for tea.
Over and out here. Will pop back on during the day to see what you are all up to:p

    Morning everyone!

Hope you're all having a good day - regardless of what the weather is doing?!

It's a lovely sunny day here in the Hebrides and I've got some washing out on the line, so hopefully that will be dry by the time I get home from work. It's great to get it dry outside and it makes it smell so fresh :)

Had a productive evening as I made up the beds in the spare rooms, having had visitors over the weekend. Tea was freezer roulette and we ended up with Steak pie and veg. Tonight's tea will be pasta and salad with enough to do DH's lunch tomorrow as well.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Will have to pack my bag this evening as I'm away from tomorrow lunchtime til Sunday afternoon.
