Those white lines are there to ask people not to park there our They're not enforceable by any kind of law, like parking on yellows would be.

I don't think honest john is the place, I'd ask on our parking fines etc. board or even on www.pepipoo.com but I think you'll find there's nothing you can do. It's certainly not your land to enforce anything on them.

You report them to the council not the police and they will send round the traffic warden. If the car is parked illigally they will get a ticket.

Buy big old banger for about £150.00 (transit or somethin) and accidently scrape one of their cars whilst trying to reverse out of your drive. They will probably keep well clear in the future.

I used to live next door to a gym and the lazy idiots who went to there used to park across my drive because it was the closet place and not as 'difficult' as parking in the gym car park, so i got dropped kerbs which it is an offence to block and a white line for those with poor eyesight/owned a 4x4/bmw/mercedes etc.

The white line was suggested to me by the police, it is not in itself enforcable but does make private parking areas more visable.

It is an offence to park across dropped kerbs and the police can issue parking tickets to anyone caught doing this, but if you manage to get a police officer out it will have been escorted there by a swarm of flying pigs and unicorns, because quite frankly its so low down the list they never bother (or it may just have been my ex local gym offered free membership to police officers)

As you are having problems with the neighbours then any issue could become a neighbour from hell senerio, do you want that? Is it really worth it if the teenagers will soon be moving out?

If you do decide to pursue this then take photos of the car and reg no, keep a diary, ring the police about every car and keep the pressure up. This will go against the house if you ever try and sell and it will probably not stop the problem (in my experience of 11 years of fighting with the gym and the police).

I was lucky because all the neighbours also complained about the gym, but as your problem is with the neighbours I would think very hard about what you what long term.

I think traffic wardens can only issue tickets in areas with yellow lines, parking times, Controlled Parking Zones or Residents Parking.

When I had my problems with the gym the traffic wardens weren't interested as it was a residental street, things may have changed though as now traffic wardens are far more motivated!

You got no chance if you're blocked and want to get on, but if you want to get off and they've blocked you in, you might get someone out. Not if you're in a hurry though...

    hi

    thanks for all you replies
traffic wardens are a no go
as this is happening at night

if i need to get out in a hurry
i dont really want to be going
    round neighbourhood asking them
    to move

    my other neighbour did suggest
getting a trolley jack and swinging
the back end of car into middle
of road and then reporting it as
    abandoned (like that idea)

it is there attitude that gets up
my goat we can be sitting in the garden
    and they still do it

    thanks again

does any one know a nice traffic
warden who will give me a fixed
    penalty notice

sadly if you acquire a fixed penalty notice it will be a criminal offence and the police will have time to investigate that.

if you put a wheel clamp on the car or get it towed away that will also sadly end you up in more trouble, wheel clamps can only be used if they actually park on your land ie your driveway.

i know the wind up factor, people paying to go to a gym who can't be bothered to park more than 100 foot away from gym door, i pointed out a parking spot less than 100 yards away and was told it was too far away  I feel my temper rising and it was over 7 years ago i moved away!!
