from my previous post on switching from ntl to sky, i have now found onetel which offer line rental at around £10.50 which is great. now to even up the costs i need to find a broadband only, which means i can keep my existing landline number for no more than say £11 per month
i dont mind having restricted usage, but not too much lol.
im surrently on ntl unlimited 1mb at £17.99 per month but want to get rid of ntl so don't want a cheap discount on my existing deal

try the post office for line rental at £9.95 by direct debit..... http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content1?catId=19300217&mediaId=19800178
then join zazizam's broadband/phone combo at £11.99 a month with 2Mb speed, 2GB usage.... tbh you won't find much more usage included than this for about £11 a month... you can still also use services such as 1899 for cheap call rates, even though you use this combo0 -
does mrJ ever recommend any firm except zazizam?0

i just recommended the post office.... and besides - the only other broadband provider i have used was virgin.net, but this was in 2003 - so my experiences would be a little different to what is happening of now with them (though i hear that they increased their portal visitors up in the last year by 100%)
- so i apologise if i don't switch ISPs every so often, or dont really have much other experience, but I am truely satisfied with my current choice, hense why i recommend it0 -
Hi Girish,
I replied to your earlier post, if you read it you will find a sneaky way of getting 10MB broadband from NTL (your current provider) @ 9.99/month!

Are you sure you can use 1899 services with the post office deal? I thought those were barred? I think I read a thread about it. As all my landline and international calls go through 1899 and 18866 I'm wondering whether it would work out cheaper for me or not?0 -
I am on the Post Office deal and I use 1899 etc. They can stop 1899 at any time, but you can stop your service with them
Line rental is £9.95, but you have to pay extra for caller display which is free with BT.
I signed up via quidco.com (https://www.quidco.com) and got £30 cashback, plus I should eventually get £50 cashback from the post office. If all goes to plan my first nine months with them will cost about a tenner net. Now that's what I call moneysaving....
Of course 3p a call is quite extravagant really when you can get yourself a free mobile with free line rental plus additional cashback from quidco.com on top and get completely free calls.0 -
