where can I reduce costs with NTL to get Sky?

Apologies for posting this in broadband and phone section but I guess both are relevant in my case and if I post in one section, I might not get some feedback on the other.
Can someone help me. Basically we currently have NTL, that’s ntl digital, ntl broadband and the ntl home phone thing. We will consider switching to Sky if we can find the total cost of all those things cheaper or around the same price for what we are currently paying NTL for.
Basically the way I’m working it out, switching to another phone company would mean paying line-rental (which we don’t currently pay with NTL,) so in order to even the costs out, we would look to cut money from somewhere else such as broadband or the sky package- if this makes any sense.
Our expenditure is below and it doesn’t help I guess that out phone call usage is really low, so any line-rental is going to cost more than out phone usage.
I got in touch with Bulldog as they currently have £9.75 p/month broadband and £10.50 p/month line-rental, and we would have ended up saving money, anything from £15 to £252.88 each year, but we would need to change our home number and that isn’t going to happen.
NTL:
broadband@ £17.99 p/month 1MB unlimited usage = £215.88 per year
digital tv@ £51.50 p/month (family, duel sport, zee) = £618 per year
prem plus (one off payment) @ £50
line rental@ FREE
call charges @ £6-£8 p/month = £72 per year
phone billing@ £1 p/month = £12 per year
totalling £967.88 per year
SKY:
* I know sky have offers on half price packages etc but they are for the first year and I am looking at the future
broadband- ideally looking for something around £10 p/month and don’t mind limited usage. There must be a cheaper option than our current one!
digital tv@ £36 p/month or £48.99 p/month/ £432 or £587.88 per year (depending on whether we get an additional package or not)
prem plus (one off payment) @ £50
line rental- ideally looking at a cheap one as we only make £6-£8 worth of phone calls p/month so anything around £10 etc is good
We do have an in-active BT line, but again if switching to BT means getting line rental, then I have to cut costs somewhere else.
I know there must be a way of at least getting roughly the same costs in total per/month, but I’m racking my brains as to where!
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi,
From experience, call NTL first and tell them you have found a better deal with madasafish and are signing up with them, (Their offer is 8MB broadband @10.99 for the first six month and £13.99 thereafter, only mention that it is £10.99 a month though!). I called NTL saying I wanted to cancel my broadband from the end of the month and they offered me 10MB broadband @9.99 a month for as long as I was with them!!!
That will already bring that your broadband bill to less than £120/year, saving you roughly £95!
Also have a look on the sticky about NTL on this board

Apparently people are getting the whole NTL package for £30 / month, that would be quite a substantial saving for you!0
