Only half my limit used and never missed a payment so why have they suspended my account? Had 4 transactions at 2 garden centres over weekend but surely they wouldn't regard that as unusual on a bank holiday weekend????? Hardly going to be Russian gangsters is it???? Glad i checked my account online and didn't have the card refused in a long line in tescos! This sound normal to anyone?

Suppose the only way you can find out is by ringing them

You might want to try calling them and asking as the general public on an internet forum probably isn't going to know the ins and outs of your account details...

  • Virgin must be sulking as their football team lost at the weekend. If you give them a ring and explain that they just didnt get the rub of the green they will help you out.

There is obviously some kind of breach so call them rather than faffing around creating a thread.

No offence but I would rather hear from the horses mouth

Mmm not very helpful guys-main cardholder is my husband and he is working well away from phones (and shops!!) at the moment and they will only speak to him which is why I did not phone. The suspension seems very random I can see no reason for it online other than that we don't use the card that often and it has been used 4 times over the last few days-i simply wondered if anyone else had a similar experience with Virgin -don't know why people reply if they have nothing to add.

Could be that theres cards in a certain batch thats been compromised and they have stopped them all. May get a letter tomorrow. Or it could be because it's not been getting used. When was the last time you/hubby used it??

    Hiya

ignore the silly comments - remember these guys never have problems so never have to ask for help...

Regards to the 'why' it is most probably due to the fact you never used the card in ages then spend 4 times, they would call just for authorisation and if failed they can suspend account until you contact them.

As an additional cardholder, they will not discuss the account with you so pointless ringing. If anything just hold fire til you speak to OH.

What sort of reply were you expecting exactly? You are essentially asking complete strangers if they know why your Virgin account that they know nothing about has been suspended. Can you see the flaw in that? Is it not obvious to you that nobody will be able to anwser a question like that apart from Virgin?
