Thank you, I understand what you are saying, but that is one of the problems. Where our property is, you cannot drive to the door, so we have a few minutes walk from the car park to our property anyway, which we have no problem with. We have never 'demanded' a space, we have asked very nicely and gone through correct procedures. There are some very mean people where we live who have spread a lot of nasty gossip about my family and it is because of this that a lot of people will not support is in our request.
All I have ever wanted, is somewhere to park. We live on a very large site and there is ample room to give parking spaces to staff and tenants, but they refuse to do so. As I have mentioned before, the fact that they allow 1 tenant a specific space and will not do the same for others is very unfair. If I come back home and there are no spaces, I have to park somewhere else, then later on when the car park is emptier, I then have to go back out again and move it.
I'm sorry if I have come across as a bit bolshy, but this is a very hard time for me at the moment. I have a lot going on in my life and things like this don't help.
The charity probably allocate staff parking spaces to stop local residents objecting to the blind housing having carers blocking up the local roads - thus making them more accepted int he community. 0 -
I take my hat off to you AnnieUK75 for explaining your situation in more detail and clarifying the reason for your reaction. It sounds as though you have been through a lot and so its easier to understand why you are upset about your situation.
I really do hope you find a resolution to the sitaution. I'm afraid I don't have any advice to offer - just good wishes.0 -
Thanks Mrs E, it's the cherry on the top of the cake at the moment. We have had so many problems with the landlord over the last few years and also a lot of personal problems. We love where we live, the property, the area...would be a lot better without the landlord and neighbours!
Thank you for your kind words
I'm sorry I was a bit harsh in my first posts to you:o
You came across as narky, but hell yes parking problems can & do get people like that:eek:
You came on to sound off & let off some steam (& maybe get some advice;)), I still say ask why you can't be treated as the other tenant???
Leave the staff out of it, they probably provide that so as not to annoy residents;)0 -
Some of the other tenants have given the same argument, that they should alos have a space for their family members. My response is that I live here and I am also signed on the tenancy. Tenants who have relatives visit, usually only come over once a week.
The reason I was pulling staff into it, was that the staff carpark is behind a barrier and you need a fob to open it. It is in this area that the other tenant has a space. What used to annoy me was that the staff would park in the visitor carpark and leave empty spaces in the staff carpark.
Anyway, I'm seeing one of the managers regarding this next week...I'll let you know how I get on.0 -

That seems a very strong point to make. What you really want is an allocated car parking space somewhere. Does it matter whether it's behind the barrier? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Your argument that another tenant has a space is very weak I'm afraid, if you push that argument all you might achieve is getting the space taken away from them. It was not a policy and was not agreed by the current management.
Unfortunately from what you have said both the management and the other tenants are not supporting your request - this is not a good start.
You say you often help the other tenants - does this help involve using your car, doing their shopping giving them lifts etc. This would be a much better approach.
You also need to look at why you and some of your neighbours have fallen out. Is this 100% their fault?I am a Mortgage Adviser

I worry when there is not a parking space, as sometimes I have to park somewhere that could obstruct people, that is why I go back to move my car as soon as I can.
I live in a city centre flat, and pay a fairly hefty amount for an annual residents parking permit. There are nowhere near enough spaces for one per flat (luckily not everyone drives) but the spaces on my street are also available as 'pay and display' for visitors. We also get notes on the windscreen advising us that various film crews are using the area and most the parking spaces will be coned off for 3 days (two separate ones happening this week, rendering the majority of spaces unavailable all week). I've often driven around for 30minutes trying to find a space near my property, and I specifically pay for the priviledge of parking!
I understand that it is frustrating for you, but like I did, you chose to live where you do and I think you've just got to be grateful when you can find a space nearby. Paying for the upkeep of the grounds does not equal paying for parking, and I'd be careful pushing this issue too far as it could result in you never being allowed to park in the visitors' carpark.
What if they asked you to pay £x per month extra for a designated space in the vistors' carpark; would you do this?0
