ah, also problematical....I cant have the standard laser surgery because, again, my prescription is too high - they can only make me less short sighted (can't see the point in that - literally really! :rotfl:)

The only option I have is about £1500 per eye and the lens in the eye actually replaced. Although this would fix my short sightedness, it would instantly make me mildly long sighted as the lens is 'fixed' and so I'd need glasses, albeit weak ones, for PC work, driving, reading etc - kind of defeats the object really!! I've looked into a load of times and even my optician didn't think it worth it.

that's why I decided not to do it Sammy - I don't mind the pain but if I'm getting rid of glasses/contacts, then it's all or nothing!!

Just realised.........I am starting to pay last year's self employed tax through my salaried wages from this month - I think they've taken some - my tax on £972 taxable was £152 tax and my tax code is 253L. It won't be as much as £972 next month as I've virtually no teaching this month to do onto my basic admin job. Gulp.

Also got more than I first realised - take home £766 this month. Paid £152 tax and £54 NI. Wonder if it will be that much each month??
