thankyou cat
I think the initial 'bonus' I've had of the interest and the share perking up may soon tail off and I think I could be sorting this for quite a while!!
OH reckons I'll be in a new job by the Summer. Of the 2 that are 'live', 1 has interviews on 19 May and the other will be late May I guess, so it will be mid- June or end of July. First step is to get an interview really though I guess!
Wow - just seen your MFD - now that is something for you to aim for, I'd love to have a MFD to work towards.

what a beautiful day.
Double scratch card day as it's Sunday. I now have £1.20 (yayyyy:rolleyes:) but I shouldn't knock it as there have been times over the years that £1.20 would have paid for bus fare somewhere (I remember being stuck about 5 miles from home about 10 years ago and had to walk most of it because my purse was empty:o) or a bag of potatoes to make chips etc.
Also been thinking. I have set myself the goal of being in a full time job by October. That will also probably have some evening teaching on top so life will be very full on. I know I'm scratting around (a phrase of my Mum's!) trying to make ends meet at the moment and am maybe not working as hard on AQA as I should be, but this could be the last chance in my career to have a few hours a day to do what I want and so maybe I shouldn't be knocking myself for using a bit of my savings each month or spending an afternoon baking, because once I'm working 37 hours a week and possibly an extra 4 per week teaching (and the prep. work!) I will probably look back and think I should have just been a bit kinder to myself.
So what if I haven't worked myself into the ground over the 3 jobs, working 7 days a week? There's the next 25 years of my career to make back the money into my savings and that's my philosophical thought for the day.

At the end of the day ..............the race is only with yourself. Enjoy the free moments when you get them.:kisses3:
I am now much more Zen about enjoying my free time instead of feeling guilty for not using it more productively.
It took a complete meltdown to bring me to this point though:rolleyes::oBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

HI BB, just stumbled across this by accident!Don't beat yourself up over it, you've acknowledged the problem and are tackling it-unlike many others who've yet to find MSE!!
Good luck, SRM xxxDebt-free...and staying that way...0 -
well, all the bits of money I was expecting have now arrived but some bits have gone out (including the £80 that was taken by mistake by the butcher because he used my card, not my OH's for the money he owes me). I have £638 in my account. I know I still have £12 house insurance to come out before the end of the month. I have enough food for at least a week but I'm very short on any vegetables so what I'm going to do is pay off the gas and electric bill so I can get the DD down which is £315 and then pay £250 off my CC when the statement arrives.
Not quite as much as I was hoping for but it's a start and it's 5% of my debt gone in the first month.
The real work will start next month though as I don't quite know where to go next!!
