Any chance you could post the troublesome !!!!'s ebay username. They're one for the blocked bidder list I reckon (if anyone needs the block a bidder link, it's http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin&hm=uu.re%60j45731&hc=1&guest=1 :) ).

Say explicitly that you will offer a full refund on safe return of the item by Paypal and NOT CHEQUE.

Say you do not issue cheques or partial refunds.

Don't worry too much about the neg feedback. There's not much you can do about it.

  • Thank you, i'll do so but unfortunately i will be hit bad as Soolin pointed out due to being a new seller. I'll most likely be suspended for 30 days.

I have sent another email to ebay though asking for a review of the situation as i didn't agree with the response i got saying that they couldn't help. They should at least be able to investigate and send the buyer a warning or something, something to give them a bit of a wake up call.

    On what grounds?

Unreasonable behaviour? I don't know what grounds they accept but surely this has to fall under one of them?

If it happens then there is always the option to email Ebay and get their advice. Tell them whats going on forward the emails which show the buyer refusing a full refund and demanding a partial refund via cheque.

That shows shadiness if ever i saw it.

  • I know what you mean. I have sent ebay full details of all the emails sent recieved by this buyer. They are unwlling to help - i got a nonsense reply that was obviosly a general email that was just tweaked her and there to make it look like a personal response. I have resent the info, along with my reply from ebay, re-outlining the fact that there is blackmail there and the buyer wants both the item and money back. So hopefully i will get a response from someone with their eyes fully open and able to read this time.

I think they want me to receive the neg feedback before they even say they'll look into it. Which is horrific if you think about it because that is basically giving people permission to bully.

There is no exemption from negative feedback for unreasonable behaviour, the criteria is very strict. There is virtually no hope at all of getting any removed unless it breaches ebay policy about profanity etc.

I still think the buyer might just go away when she realises she can't bully the OP

  • What a nasty buyer - some really helpful comments here so take their advise & don't give in. Either it's faulty or not. Either way a partial refund by cheque won't change the state of the item & it sounds to be like she's exploiting the fact that she can do whatever she likes as you can't leave her a neg.
Please would you post the buyers ID though as I for one would like to add this one to the blocked bidders list & I think a few others would like to be protected too. Thanks & best of luck! xx

Know you may have already resolved this- but incase you haven't, OP, have you ever thought of telling the ebayer your bank do not let you have a cheque book?
(You could then go on to say that it was because you were connected to a criminal underworld and hit men were involved.....)

Hope you get it sorted though.

I dream of an ebay where unreasonable behaviour is banned :rotfl:
