So to summarise
Income monthly £720
Outgoing
£30 debit payment
£35 phone bill
£100 to mum
Roughly you still hae £555 in the pocket to live on ?
I would be rid of the £35 phone asap and go for a cheaper tariff around a £10 a month (plenty of deals out there).
Increase the payment to pay of the £1000 loan to family member sooner rather than later - pay of £100 a month, stil have £455 left. In 10 months all paid of and your burden lowered and have £555 from then on in your pocket a month.
Stick £100 into your isa or more plus whatever is left over at end of each month.0 -
Yes the phone has to go , PAYG,"When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".

I wouldn't say get rid of the contract, as depending on your usage, a PAYG tariff could end up more expensive. When your contract is up, just go to the retentions dept. (on the phone!) and tell them you've seen a better deal elsewhere, (quote deals if possible) and they should reduce the bill a bit. See the mobiles board for more info on what to expect here:

lol I'm not on a student tariff and get 600mins, 1000 texts, free O2 to O2 calls, free internet and a free phone for £20 a month! :rotfl: That's the kind of tariff you should be aiming for!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

 Wait until i get hold of Three! Altho in their defence, it was roughly 9 months ago i renewed and could i be bothered to look around? No. In a true female way, i wanted a new phone and i wanted it NOW! lol. :rotfl:
That'll teach me!!0 -
lol, I only got that deal because I was an existing O2 customer who renewed. New customers won't get it, however after the first 12, 18 24 months (whatever the contract is) you can get a much reduced rate! I think it's the same with Vodafone as well, along with some other networks, but can't say for certain. It's certainly worth your while checking out the mobiles board I referred to earlier! Big savings to be made! lolNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Why get finance when you could save and pay for the car in one?0

rictus123 - are you telling us you work 90 hours for 5 days?
Now I have heard of the European working time which I oppose but 90 hours is ridiculous imho - insane.
Your take home probably about 629.78 minus tax and ni (might get about 450 in your pocket as a guess).
As for car - shame you got rid of the old car if it was over 9 years old.
Coz if it was, old Gordy Brown and Darling Aliastair might have give you £2k to flog the old one - hey you could have had a brand new spanking Tata Nano ! for around £1500:rotfl: Wonder if you can pocket the £500.0
