The saucepans started at around £5 each ~ but at least then you can buy what you need instead of a whole set if you only want one or two.
The sofa we bought was £179, fabric, navy, although they didn't have a great choice of colours“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Tescos have Value duvets and they have a good selection of covers, pillow cases etc too. You could try Matalan too if you have one near you.

Hi, I'm new.
I did the first home thing 4 years ago & managed to decorate & furnish my flat for under £400 (okay so I already had a bed & managed to talk Mum into buying my fridge & cooker, but still....). It's a housing association flat so all there was were cupboards in the kitchen & the usual 3 pieces in the bathroom. Floors = concrete, walls = really bad condition wall paper
I'm posting now as I'm really surprised that noone has mentioned Dunelm Mill. They have great prices on duvets (from £4.99), duvet covers sheets etc., I got my curtains for £3.99! they still do them a that sort of price too.
If moneys tight then don't buy a cooker (they eat electricity anyway), get yourself a microwave & one of those health grill things (Comet are doing a £60 one for £9.99 until Wednesday). Between the 2 of them you can cook pretty much anything except pastry. Yes it is possible to do it, thats how I've cooked for the past 3 years lol!
As mentioned above, if there is one near you, go to TJ Hughes for appliances, they sell last seasons models for greatly reduced prices eg I got a £50 iron for £12, £30 kettle for £10, £30 toaster £10, £50 hoover £25, all still going after 4 years of much abuse & cat hair.
Hope this helps, sorry didn't realise how long it was lol!0 -
