Anyone got any ideas for cheap duvets aswell? I've been to Argos, but they seem expensive £12.99 for one or £19.99 for two. All I want are just plain white sheets. Also, the fitted sheet at nearly 9 quid from asda seemed a lot?

Tesco do Value bedding. I've got a plain white kingsize duvet cover with a plain white fitted sheet. Also bought extra pillow cases. I can't remember how much they were off the top of my head, but they weren't very expensive.

The quality of them seem fine, although I've only just moved into my place so haven't actually washed them yet so don't know if they fall apart in the first wash!

Got the bath towel set already thank god. Can be expensive! :)
Wont need clothes pegs, as we dont have a line (living in a flat)
Got quite a few odd mugs, which will do for the interim, or maybe even permanantly, as it adds a personal touch
Vases and candles will certainly come along the line somewhere, but yes, as you said, not essential, just yet.
Curtains arent being put up at all, as it'll keep a cleaner look (imo), and the place comes with plain white blinds :)
Oh yes, need a bath mat actually, and a shower curtain! (both cheap though I think - had a finding nemo one at my old place! :D)
Toilet brush is something I didnt think of! Still small though, so yay!
Wine glasses... well, two 21 yr old blokes living together, so we wont have them :D
    Measuring jug, yep, good idea!
Not got kitchen scales or a mixing bowl on the list... good idea!

Will you be after a tumbledryer? If you're after both a tumble dryer and washing machine, I've just got both for £300 from Comet (inc free delivery).

Sounds nice, even more so that they're included!

If you haven't got a shower rail and you need one, Argos do a shower rail and curtain set for just under £8. The curtain is plain white. It's thin, but fine to do what it's there for (stop water from going everywhere!!). If you just need a curtain and not a rail, then Tesco's shower curtains are about £3 upwards (good quality PVC ones though). May be able to get them cheaper elsewhere though.

If you need pint glasses  (though I guess you'll probably drink straight out the can/bottle), Tesco value one are 88p for 4. Bargain!

I know it probably sounds like I work for Tesco or something, but I don't! It's just that I've bought most of my stuff from there.

    Hope this helps anyway.

Did you say you have pans already!??!

If you can afford, i would highly recommend Tefal pans (the red spot ones). Whatever I burn in them, it never sticks and washing them is a dream!

Nope, not got pans yet. I dread it, since I had a look at Asda own brand today, pots n pans, and that totalled like £30 or so!

I like the tefal ones, had them at home before. Will get them if I see a deal on them, as theyre so expensive!

4 pint glasses for 88p?!?!?! Bargain!!!! Although yes, you're right, I prefer it out of the bottle (although if I had the choice of can or glass, it'd be glass!)

Not sure if there's a rail... God I really didnt look at the place properly!!! Haha.. I'm desperate for a place though, so kinda anything wouldve done! Didnt know the place had a fireplace either at first!!! Dont think we'd be allowed to put up a rail though, so that tesco shower curtain sounds good! We bought our finding nemo one for just over 2 quid though!!!!!! Bargain!!!!! :D:D:D

Not after a tumble drier. The kitchen will only just fit in a cooker, washer and fridge freezer... and I mean JUST :( Will do ALL my drying on an airer.

We got a sofa from Matalan (only a 2 seater although I think they did have 3 seaters too) their pans weren't bad either.

  • If there's a Morrisons near you they sell single saucepans, all sizes, cheap as chips. Won't last you forever but at least you can replace them one at a time.
If you need a chair in the bedroom to throw your clothes on, when the floor's full up ;) , plastic garden chairs sprayed look good and you might be able to score a free one from someone.
Argos do spring loaded shower curtain rails, which wouldn't mark the wall.
Have you thought about lightshades and bedside lights? BHS, Asda, Woollies, Wilkinsons all have a good cheap range with prices from very cheap to 'I want one of those'

How about looking in TKMaxx if you have one locally. Another place for cheap kitchen stuff - cutlery, dishes etc is T J Hughes.
