I shop in Tesco. The one nearest to me always has loads of offers and reduced items, especially late on friday night when I tend to go. If you want to save more money, go later at night on fridays. If you go at about 8pm, there's more reduced items and less people to fight through!

Morrisons - but that's the only one i can get to so I don't really have a choice. They do have a lot of reduced-to-clear offers thoguh and "selected seconds" fruit and veg which saves me a lot of money.

I don't bother with the yellow stickered stuff much. I find it very unmoneysaving for us as its all stuff you have to eat/use straight away:confused:
I like to make sure I get it all as fresh/long-dated as possible so it lasts.

    Do others not find this?

Nope, that's what freezers are for, surely. And I'm not sure how you can say it's 'unmoneysaving' exactly when Morrisons often sell short dated stuff originally selling for £3.49-£3.99 for the princely sum of 9p

If its meat, yeah you can stick it in the freezer.

I was thinking more of fruit, veg & salad as per the post in my quote.

And break & cakes & stuff as well.

What did you get for 9p???

Veg can be frozen too. Last week I froze 1.2kg of stringless beans, they cost me 52p and were a bargain. Fruit often lasts longer than it states on the label, you just have to look at the condition it's in and use your judgement.

Common sense goes a long way with reduced items.

It's a while since I went in but the last time I did I got several items for 9p, one being a twin pack of their best, rindless unsmoked bacon. Original price was £3.49, replaced by a 9p sticker! Loads of packs on the shelf as well. Needless to say I got several (leaving plenty for others, of course) and into the freezer they went. :D

I don't of course know where you live but you are certainly lucky to get such bargains. All the supermarkets around here never sticker reduce anything by more than a few pence even when the sell by date is the day you buy.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

    Same here.

If something is "on offer" (BOGOF or similar) it can cost more to get the stickered item:rolleyes:
