Toots (and everyone else) the fish was divine. That is how fish SHOULD taste and smell. i.e. not of fish! If I knew I could get fish that fresh every day, I'd eat nothing else. The mackerel and some of the cod has gone in the freezer so it will be interesting to see how that tastes in a week or so.
But even doing the filletting etc. there was a distinct difference in the texture to the flesh when cutting it.
I am now hanging on by a thread energy wise. DS is in the shower and as we only have the one bathroom, I can't do my nightime ablutions until he's out. I'm not going to hurry him. We actually had a good evening together (DiL was out) - he lay on the settee in the living room and we negotiated TV programme watching together. haven't done that for years.
A good day I think.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

soappie my NoF used to work in the fish market when she was young and she only freezes white fish for a couple of weeks at most as she says it loses a lot of flavour - sorry if I am telling you something you already know!

I didn't know that Toots - thanks. I'm not very experienced with fish. I shall make sure the rest is used up in the next couple of weeks.
The bathroom is now free so I'm off to do my ablutions and then collapse in bed.
Night night everyone.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well, I have just come back from......
The cemetery.......:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Very scary, I went up their earlier to see my Dad with my sister and Mum as it's his 70th birthday today (sorry, would have been) and the baby must have taken my phone out of my jacket when it was over the pushchair, as it was on top of a grave in the flowers.... it was really weird ringing it and not being able to work out where it was ringing. We went tonight as I knew that was the last place I had it and we were worried it might have been lost on a path or somewhere and someone may have taken it (well, I do live in Basildon...
)
Lucky we did, we would have never seen it from looking, and my battery had nearly gone, so we wouldn't have been able to ring it tomorrow... very, very eerie though, think my dad just wanted to see us again... and how's this for spooky, as we pulled up, my mum shone her lights over and Elvis came on the radio - his favorite... :eek:
Well, before that, I was asleep on the sofa... was really tired and fell asleep after eating tea, sitting up too, so nothing else done today...

I'm a size 24 and I like having the quilt tucked in around the edges. I hate having a draft up my back. But the quilts on beds are so small they don't reach! We have a double bed and a kingsize quilt which is perfect. What would we do if we got a kingsize bed?
Anyway, these are my profound thoughts for this evening. Just typing out loud really.
You would have to get one for a queensize bed, I always suffered with the double bed and double quilt as it never covered me properly, now we have a 6ft bed and queensize quilt and it's fine - too much bed not to cover us now...toottifrootti wrote: »oh No flower tooooooo spoooooky for me - I wouldnt have gone!!!! you were brave!!! glad you found it and hope you had lovely memories of previous birthdays with him. Not really Toots, I was with my Mum, DD & DS as backup but was still really scared - checking for full moons and looking everywhere about me - I watch too much Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel I think... :rotfl::rotfl: Strange how a place can do that to you eh!
Lots of lovely memories though, still miss him after 15 years...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
oops... forgot to go to bed early! Still, I've finally written up my finance committee minutes (it took ten minutes :rolleyes:).
Watched the DVD of pay it forward, which I'd never seen, despite the fact that I think it's such a great idea!
Must go and make my hot water bottles, clean my teeth and go to bed... and hope to get something done tomorrow!0 -
