    Hi,

I've bought the bed just need to pick it up. OH is bringing his van at 2pm. I've also had my hair cut and for once i love it. It's been really long for years and now the longest bits just touch my shoulders. It'll be so much easier to manage now. I need to move Ds1's chest of drawers to make room for the bed and take down the tv cabinet i'm getting rid of.

Julie, sorry sieve brain, why is DS seeing a consultant? Hope it goes well

Basically he's starting puberty early - it's called precocious puberty - we'll just get the confirmation on Tuesday and details of treatment - from what I've been told this may be hormone injections every 6 weeks - as well as constant weighing, measuring, blood tests, urine tests. It's very rare in boys and is usually hereditary - but not in DS's case - it's more common in girls but still quite rare then. Thanks for asking.

After my moany post earlier, I feel a bit better. Have done the hoovering, so now i can relax while waiting for my friend to come at 2. DH and I divided up the meat we bought yesterday into meals and put them in the freezer. Am pleased! For less than £20 we got 8 meals for 2 people and 4 lots of bacon (we bought a pack of bits of bacon for £2 and there is tons there so freezing it in sandwich sized amounts!) and as it's mainly all steak and sausages I don't think that's a bad price.

So feeling a bit more relaxed as we don't need to buy any more food for the next week at least, apart from the basics - milk/bread etc.

Julie, it's really good that they have found out what your son has and can treat him. I know a little girl with this condition, she used to be such a flirt and never ever talk to girls, only the most handsome of men (she had good taste) as her hormones were going mad at quite a young age, I think she was 6. Anyway, when she started her treatment, she was transformed into a normal child again. She is a really lovely person. She has injections every 6 weeks and is quite used to them. I'm glad your son will be receiving treatment, I know it's daunting, but it will soon become part of your routine and will make your son feel much better. Will the District Nurse be coming to do the injections?

I don't know what will happen with the injections - I'll find out more on Tuesday. If I hadn't mentioned it to our school nurse it would probably not have been found out for a long time.
