The government is increasing tax on greener fuels by more than petrol and diesel.

    Petrol/diesel fuel duty on March 31st: 52.35p
    Petrol/diesel fuel duty on September 1st: 56.19p
Increase of 7.3% in 6 months

    Biodiesel/ethanol fuel duty on March 31st: 32.35p
    Biodiesel/ethanol fuel duty on September 1st: 36.19p
Increase of 11.9% in 6 months

LPG fuel duty on March 31st: 20.77p per kg
LPG fuel duty on September 1st 27.67p per kg
Increase of 33.2% in 6 months

Darling called this the carbon budget!

Yep, another 2p rise in September. No mention of the 2p rise they already did this month. So effectively 4p rise in fuel duty this year.

Also the 2p duty they put on in November.

So all in all, will have been 6p duty put on a litre in less than a year come September.

    Has that ever been beaten!?

And when VAT goes back upto 17.5% there's another increase.

The Pound is today at a 5 month high against the Dollar but obviously that will do nothing to halt the relentless increase in fuel costs
