Whilst i agree that a prison sentence is unlikely, you don't have to be a candidate for sainthood to know that stealing £5,000 is wrong and I can't see why this shouldn't be commented on.
Do you really have so low opinion of humanity to think that stealing thousands of pounds is a common thing that most people would do?

sorry, but when it comes to BREAKING THE LAW and claiming for stuff you shouldn't, then being niave in my books= downright stupid.
I hope you do go to prison, you STOLE, thiefs should be made to pay for what they have done, and as a deterrent to other wannabe THIEFS.

the benefit claimant fills a form in and makes a declaration that they are entitled to the money because of their circumstances--nobody forces them to then lie about their circumstances.
If £5000 is sitting on the table and someone takes it when it doesn't belong to them, it's called stealing.
it's exactly the same as someone claiming when they know they shouldn't be.
