.you ask me that question thinking i REVEL in people losing their jobs..i don't but i do care that people are informed and by being informed the can make decisions with the knowledge they have
Would you like people to be kept in the dark with no knowledge about what is going on around them and then all of a sudden their world falls apart because they never saw what was coming and never had chance to prepare themselves or their finances
Because i believe this is not just a little blip and all will be well in the next couple of years then you are doing yourself a and your dependents a disservice because this is far bigger than we have had before and the people in charge are not capable of fixing it without the people at the bottom going through so much pain that it will change their lives for ever and i make no apologies to no one for trying to warn people about it and hope they are able to come out of it best as they can...
i have seen poverty real and percieved poverty in places in east and west africa
I have lived in corrupt countries like honduras costa rica ect ect and we are no where near them but in this country if things go the way i think they will go we will see poverty on a scale not seen since before the war....and if one person reads one of my posts and backs off from getting themselves into uneceserry debt when the bogeyman is just around the corner. i will be happy....

I grew up in a third world country, I know what poverty is, don't throw your I'm holier than thou act on me to justify why you ONLY post bad news. You're only after a cheap house, you taunt the sellers on the house selling thread (to those selling in desperate times) by telling them their houses are over priced and then have the cheek to ask if anyone is selling in the area you want to buy.

You post news links without any analysis and or clarification, all you are is a selfish self righteous man who wants the economy to collapse to buy a cheap house.

*ps, a board guide is allowed to have their own opinion, this is me*

i would never have expected you to have posted this Geoffrey - i thought i would take the liberty, hope that it's ok and you don't mind
Britain's BT Group said a full update regarding any further job cuts would be given with its full-year results next month, dismissing a Sunday newspaper report citing 10,000 job losses as speculation.

We must be the only country in the world that has citizens who post links to catastrophic job losses and get a hard-on doing it.

It's a news paper quote the majority of people read newspapers and not this site?

I buy no midweek newspapers. In fact, I very rarely buy a news paper at all any more. My dad gets almost ALL the Sunday papers, though. So I read them. Or some of them.

also, links from this site often take me to publictations I'd never buy, or not buy regularly

i get a bit annoyed when there is a rampage against people for sharing information. The onformation isn' the problem, its how we interpret it, or weight its importance.

Future predictions might be a little apocolyptic, but job losses are a hardness NOW and IMO re clearly improtant and relevant news.

TBF misskool, its hardly being nice to all moneysavers, is it?:confused:

some of the places I lived where very, very poor. Some were very rich. Occasionally it was possible to see that it was a tenous thing, the difference between no resources whatsoever and wealth. I think that is less of a risk in UK than other places, partly because of history, partly because of geographical position, hopefully, partly due to our education and infrastructure.

Geoff does not share information - you can get as annoyed as you like LIR but there is no defending this one. :)

just look at the context of his posts and you'll understand.

Rubbish, you're just selfish like the rest.
Any news that you think may bring house prices closer to your affordability level, you revel in, be honest..people will have more respect for you.

Take the post about his neighbour losing the house, too patronising and realistically made up by himself.

So how do you interpret the original post?is it going to make any sort of difference to yourself?.

Thousands of jobs are being lost at the mo,gonna get tiresome in here if every post details the fact.

I think the same can be said for many posters :) There are some who only want bad news, there are some who only want good news. I want all news :)

Blimey, who poked you with a big stick?

    :rotfl:

You are allowed your own opinion, just not to get all ranted up about it. :kisses3:
