lmao I can see David Cameron now on the next question time embarrasing Gordon Brown. He will make Gordon Brown apologise to him and the whole conservative party on Live national TV
Don't be stupid - the Tories can't complain about Labour smear tactics when their Home Office mole led to asserts and their Expenses Office mole is selling ministerial expenses info to the highest bidder.
The smear campaign idea is not remotely news - they all do it to each other in their own parties and to the opposition. Its sticking it in an email thats the story - what a moron.0 -

It's not very clear as to what you are trying to say at all. Anyway, so you think this was a stab in the back to oust Brown? You really think that Brown would feel any need to be held personally responsible for this? You think that he would step down now, when he's rarely admitted any responsibility for anything?!!
This is pretty small fry really. It's very amusing, and highly embarrassing for McBride, but Brown will just say that it wasn't Labour policy, he didn't know anything about it, take a few on the chin at PMQs, and the water will roll off the duck's back.
I really don't think that Labour could get away with 3 different leaders in one term.
Edit: The argument that the Tories are not 'whiter than white' is completely irrelevant, and, quite frankly, pathetic. No one has said they are, and it doesn't excuse or justify what what has happend. In fact, it's totally irrelevant."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0 -
I thought it was because some muppet emailed his mate who then emailed his mate who then leaked it to the media.....nothing to do with how secure an email system is.
The emails were in a round robin and someone in the circle of trust blew the whistle:D
Several names have not yet been named, gonna be a fun weeked at NewLab HQ:rotfl:

Hmmm. The difference here is, selling expense claims is selling real stuff.
This smear campaign was based simply on made up lies about their personal lives.
Big difference between moles selling something thats true, and making up a load of horseshyte about something personal to try and hurt a party.
I don't believe you are stupid, so don't quite know why you have compared them this way, apart from to try and attempt to back up labour again.0 -
It's a bit special that this has come from the order-order site, as if they think there's something wrong with personal smears. It's largely populated by people who are obsessed with them! Even today the commenters have managed to persuade themselves simultaneously that politicians' private lives should be off-limits, and that it's a good day to discuss their pet theory that Peter Mandelson and Gordon Brown are gay lovers. Weird.Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0

Peter Mandelson is gay?? Who knew?0
