Hi there,
I'm sure it's a silly question, in which case forgive me, but have you tried contacting the buyer?
I have had a payment reversed where I was the buyer. I had the funds at the time of purchase and then overdraft fees I wasn't expecting meant the purchase didn't clear and was reversed.
As soon as I realised I contacted the seller and re-paid by paypal all fine.
It's possible they might be honest and not have realised the payment had been reversed?
Just a thought..
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!

sorry, just larking around now, but i think the op has wandered off now anyway and the sub debate on paypal has died so i think this thread is done.....0 -
I sold 2 pairs of jeans last night.
Message from the seller this morning "Have these been sent?". Thought it a bit strange as they hadn't paid yet. Received payment. Posted out recorded delivery. (My auction doesn't state i do this, but i do now because there's so many scammers & !!!!! out there
)
3 hours later. Paypal are holding my funds whilst they look into this. I'm told it's just a random check, or the buyer has said they were bought fraudulently.
Email buyer asking if they know what's happening, they say they don't, it's happened 3 times now, I tell them it could be because they haven't verified themselves completely on paypal yet.
I am thinking scammer though? I mean, some sellers do send out items before payment is received (luckily not one of them) and seemed like they were chancing it so as to not have to pay.If they paid by paypal their address will be on the transaction details and if they collected they may be local. Personally I would go round and collect goods or payment.
Me too. This is also why I generally get payment upon collection. I mean, if it's faulty or whatever, they know where I live!! Just more evenly protected that way.0 -
For the record, those of us set to view a lot of posts per page are still on page 1
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Curses... my cunning plan has been foiled!0

Just to note fraud is a criminal offence and the police may be able to track it back using the transaction log from paypal to an IP address, and to an account.
The police may need pestering to do this, and since a General Election is coming up, you MP may be glad to push them for you.
Also I would make sure that people car registration number as common practise.0
