Rather than sexism, I suspect Klein might just as easily have fallen prey to ageism.
In its relentless pursuit of young audiences, the BBC seems to have developed a phobia about older presenters.
I find this odd as, personally, I tend to listen when someone who has done something for a lifetime tells me how!
One of the older female news presenters (can't remember the name of hand) clearly came out and said there was sexism against older female presenters.
There isn't such a problem for men who are older.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Moira Stuart, I believe.
Having watched the average age of Gardening TV presenters of both sexes tumble, I'm still not sure that's it's sexism, pure and simple. I think women have a tougher time, but I believe the driving force is the BBC's obsession with 'yoof'.0 -
Weather presenters are even worse, I can't remember the last time I didn't see a young attractive young woman on screen, in some tight top with a good figure underneath,
........ hang on a minute, not sure I want to complain about this one!Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I wonder how much longer Carol Kirkwood will last on BBC breakfast. She isn't old but she isn't young either.
Oh and on the South East regional news we have a larger i.e. normal size woman doing the weather who appears a minimum of once a week.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Has anyone seen 'The Big Dig' with Simon Mayo?
I really enjoyed that and found him a suprising presenter for a veggie show:T
For those who love raised beds to the max, watch this:rotfl:

He really, really likes his allotment doesn't he. :rotfl: I don't think I have ever seen such a tidy one. He's certainly read the book on setting one up from scratch.
Could you imagine him as a next door allotment owner to yourself. I would be throttling him after a while.
Seen the big dig, it was very good. I don't get the sky gardening channels anymore which is a shame, but I did enjoy it when it was on.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Selina Scott was recently sacked for being 57 and is not chuffed.
I am letting all the raised bed slagging off wash over me as we need them here coz of the wet.0
