I've yet to stay in a decent TL.

On the other hand, I've yet to stay in a poor PI.

I've now decided £19 a night is my max for a TL as I can just about cope with them at that price.

If I was staying more than one night or had to pay full price, I'd pay more to stay elsewhere.

during our last stay we had a mouse sharing our room

So long as it was a family room (sleeps three) I don't think that is against the rules. I mean, they let you bring dogs.

    Thanks Spender!

Dave -- yes some people have good, some bad, but what totally amazes me is that we've never ONCE had a dirty or shabby room nor dirty bedding nor rude staff nor been doublebooked nor found anything not working, yet we've stayed at a huge number of TL all across the UK.

The staff cannot do enough for us -- maybe because we treat them with respect? I don't know; it just seems odd to me that we never (well once) have any problems.

Surely our luck must run out? I am booked into the London City Airport one soon. Maybe that will be our nightmare stay?

I love all forms of transport and will love the planes. There aren't that many at London City, anyway.

    Thanks for that.

Forget my moans to date as I will take a look and may get a few booked if the web site is not jammed up.

We booked a couple of nights at a Travel Lodge in Norfolk last year (end of March so quite chilly ).........Double room with small (and I mean small) storage heater that really didn't heat the room.Bathroom had no heated towel rail -had been disconnected for safety reasons so the bathroom was freezing cold. For meals it was a choice of the Little Chef across the road or a mile walk to a local pub which is what we opted for........good food and a roaring great fire.
I'd booked the room on a special deal of £19 a night.............we only stayed for one night though as it was so cold.
On the plus side, the staff were as helpful as they could be, the room although basic, which was what we expected, was comfortable.........it was just so cold.
Having had my growse...........I would book in again but I'd make sure it was summertime.....................!!

Did anyone see the 'Travelodge' sketch on Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle on the BBC recently. Slightly off topic, but the thread made me think of it! Really funny....
