I was rather hoping I may get other points of view on their experiences:confused:

But surely it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks - you are the only one who knows if it suits you or not.

If you are going away to use it as a base for discovering a new area then at £9 a night I would bite their hands off. If, on the other hand, the staying in the hotel is a major part of the experience for you then spend more money and stay somewhere better. Simpuls! :p

So I am not allowed to post and canvass others opinions:p

  • we stayed at the glasonbury one and it was fine, even a view of sheep on the hill:confused:(over the esso garage mind:rotfl:)
only gripe i have with travel lodge is the gatwick one as stopped in jan on flight out it was clean, warm and meal fine..no complaints then on return it was freezing, no heating on and refused to swap rooms even with a tiny baby or give me a heater or duvets as apparently the heating system in the place doesnt work:confused:
go to restaurant and only serving one main meal and no desserts as apparently no food delivered:rolleyes:
oddly enoughlater on a man was complaining his room was too hot! ...thankfully the heating came on in the early hours so we survived:T

Yes we saw the sheep over the garage:D

We stayed on a cold few days and my wife went and bought two hot water bottles as the room just would not get warm. We felt Glastonbury didn't live up to what we had heard about it which wasn't the Travel Lodges fault but .... As I said I like moaning:D

I've moved this thread over to the UK Holidays board :)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. • I went to Bluewater TL, and it was dirty! Drink spilt on bedside table, filth in other places. Unfortunately I'd got in 2 drunk & 2 late 2 go complain, but it wasn't nice!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

i think it all depends on the age of the lodge you are staying at

personally the only gripes ive ever had with travelodges, its the smell of smoke. even though you havent been able to smoke in them for a while now, they still smell of smoke.

so to avoid this, i now tend to only book lodges that have opened recently, as that way they were built after the smoking ban. Also the new lodges are a better layout, and i find the rooms more spacious, if somewhat lacking in extras. i do miss not being able to rent films anymore (and no not that sort!), as having young kids who want to sleep, we have to be in the room from quite early evening, and the tv listings are a tad boring, but as most lodges are now licensed, i can at least have a cold beer from the bar, in my room

Tbh, i think you get what you pay for. if i couldnt get a room for £19 or less, then i would look at the other options available, but i tend to find if i cant get a cheap travelodge, then its highly unlikely id find a different hotel in the same location, for a cheap price either. also i tend to find most other hotels only sleep 3 max to a room, whereas travelodges are prepared to let my family of 5 in one room

I like Starbucks coffee at Street but the shopping village is not my kind of place. Now Totnes is one of my favorite places of all time and we may move to there as I have friends in that area.

How I can find out the age or is it a case of telephoning the individual Travel Lodge?
