Bossanova,
My Ex tried for Spousal at the rate of £600 a month for 5 years...egged on by her solicitor.
I offered none, it went to court and guess what she got none. The D/V had dragged on for 15 months and she could not prove what she had done to either get requaliifed, educated or even enquired about courses at the local colleges. In short she assumed that the £600 a month was in the bag. Even better she got 90% of the equity in the house, i got my pension....Happy days to date she's lost £40k and rising0 -

If the story had been about a man doing this to a woman a comment like this would never have been left. It was like on another recent thread where a man was asking for advice - one poster added to their comments "Of course we are only hearing your side of it", again something you hardly ever see posted when a woman asks for advice.
It will be sad if this creeping gender bias continues because it will put off some people from asking for help.No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

I know what he was/is like because they are/were our best friends and neighbours. He is a good man and a great father , She had a midlife crisis and regrets only ever being with her hubby since school and having the kids. I have spoken to her only once since and she said she has done her job the family thing and now it's her time to enjoy life and have me time. This is my signature!0
