evansangel how did you persuade your boss to do a risk assessment and what does it involve?
Feel like I should ask for one but my manager has been really good to me and don't want to rock the boat. However, I am rotating onto nights in May and don't know if that is classed as a risk or not????
Confusing all this stuff isn't it?
    Coming soon............

Well i dont think you should be working nights, i read it somewhere but i cant be sure where.
But i wanted a risk assessment done and work said no until i can prove im pregnant with a MatB1 form. Which i wont get until im 20+ weeks. So i went to citizens advice bureau and they said they should be doing it as soon as they recieved written notification of my pregnancy.
And to write them another letter stating i want a risk assessment and what i think is a risk and what i want to come out of it.

And if they dont respond within 28 days i could take them to a tribunal for sex discrimination.

Well they responded almost instantly (i think they knew what i was doing hehe) and now its next week :D

A risk assessment basically is when they look into your job and assess what could be a risk to you and your unborn baby :)

    Ask, its worth it :)

Had this info sheet in my bag...

    Night Work

There are specific rules about night work. If a doctor or midwife certifies that a woman should not work nights for a specific period, the employer must consider if it would be possible to offer suitable alternitive work for that period. If that is not possible the woman must be suspended on full pay.

Woohoo... The noodle man will be bringing us a chinese in the next 30 mins :D Am staaaaaaaaaaaarving....

Elle, if your OH wants your parents to meet then tell him to sort it out! I can sympathise, my Dad is a moody antisocial wotsit... Just isn't into organised events... So our parents didn't even meet until our wedding... Apart from once when FIL gave us a lift to my Mum's, they met then... Don't imagine they'll be getting together much in the future either... Apart from Baby's dedication.... It's not really that important to us... Maybe we're odd?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Well done evansangel on getting the risk assesment, its only what your entitled too, bloody cheek trying to put it off, so great to see you sticking to your guns.

I dont think they will give it too you without one Searching, but I have always found Boots customer service team to be one of the best if you let them know it got lost they may post out another.

Me and DH's parents never really met until our first childs christening, then at our wedding, we actually avoid things like "meets" too stressful for my liking. Maybe im odd too :rotfl:

Elle If he's so worked up about it, maybe he's getting pressure from his folks to organise it, in either case I would let him take full responsibility for it.
