Hello all, not been here for days & got mountains to catch up on!
Massive congrats to the three new mums - am's pics are fab! :D Looking forward to all BS's.
Got a new bed for the toddler today, DH volunteered to get it put together without me even asking! Also, when we took apart old cot & stored it in garage, we were talking about how to sort out the saggy metal sprung base in time for the next one - first time he's showed interest in the new bean! We decided not to get a new cot, but to try & stabilise the base in the old one - then freecycle it as this baby will be our last, getting too old for this lark! :D
Little 'un refused to go for a nap in the new bed, but happily went to bed tonight, but I haven't checked since he went up, v. quiet! Seems such a big step, but all the other kids were in a real bed before they were 2, maybe it's me getting a bit hormonal, or it's old age! :rotfl:
Worked Friday & Saturday, had nephew for Easter Sunday lunch, went for long walk with DH's family yesterday, hoovered whole house & sorted out toddler's room today - absolutely pooped - had half of one of toddler's Easter eggs & feel nearly recovered now. ;)
Re maternity pads - I used Boots last time, both the thick & thin ones, both very good & 2 packs of 10 are NOT enough, whoever asked! That might last you the first 48 hours if you're lucky!! :rotfl:Although if you meant to take into hospital with you it'll be enough.
    A xo

  • Thanks for all your advice girls about the cot matress. I KNOW it makes sense not to buy one and I am sure I will come round - it's just I panic....

Anyway these sloggis sounds interesting. I am now at the bump stage where my pants are roling down underneath bump and I hate it. I either want 'sit underneath' bump pants or 'sit on top of bump' pants. I HATE sit underneath bump trousers as I am tall and even maternity tops arent long enough and i hate the bit of belly that pokes through the bottom (bump bands annoy me) soooo do these sloggi sit over the bump?? What style are they?? Are they maternity??

    NEED NEW PANTS!

Glad the sloggies have been mentioned. I need to stock up on them for afterwards. Wheres the best place to stock up on them cheaply?

I was holding my belly in before getting pregnant with those biggg knickers that Gok recommends, cant remember the name but excellant. Not suitable for after giving birth though need to wait a while until i'm back in them.

Suzy, I usually get mine from TJ Hughes in Liverpool when they are on offer. And my Mum always buys me a few packs with my Birthday and Christmas presents! :D

Thank for that SB, I'll have a look when I next go into Town. Just looked on Ebay and they are around £15 for a 4 pack, I'm not sure if thats a good deal or not though so I'll look in the shops first and see whats about.

i've just got some 'big knickers' from BHS. as i hate the feeling of the 'knickers falling down'. thses were £5 for 5. and are 100% cotton. friend recommended them to me for before/after birth. and i know that at the moment i am tiny compared to what i maybe but they are fantastically comfy. Hubby not too impressed but have told him that for the forseeable future its what makes me comfy and not necessarily sexy that counts.
he says they're so big he could use them as a parachute the cheeky swine. lol
