How long do baby baths last actually? I haven't really thought about it. My brother and girlfriend are in the same position as they only have a shower. The people who had their flat before them had a baby, so they clearly managed. What about a Bumbo sitting the baby in the shower area and then just using the shower head to rinse them?
Is it bad that I had to google "Bumbo"? :rotfl:

I was wondering about a mesh reclining baby seat, the kind of thing you'd put into a bath to support the baby anyway. Get him/her used to being in the room, recognising the noise and perhaps feeling a little of the ambient spray, while still young enough for the baby bath ....

I've just noticed that there are only 17 regular posters due between now and my due date.

This is terrifying. How did I get to be six months pregnant?! We're not ready yet. We have a crib that is filled with baby stuff and a nursery that is filled with the associated debris of daddy's pinball habit.

Sugarspun ~You have the same due date as me and seem more organised. A crib? eek I've not got as far as buying one yet. It seemed ages away until the due date as its August but it is the beginning of August ! Scary now.

I've seemed to have broken it all down in stages, Gp appointment, scan ,bloods and second scan , now just waiting for 4d scan . It'll all be over before we know it!

Hello Suzy, tbh how about a moses basket. Some people only use them for a couple of weeks, couple of months at the most. Easier to move from room to room as well. X

    Hi Tara,

I'm here, multi tasking , cooking 2 cheese and onion HM pies, putting my newly washed settee covers back on, eating chocolate cornflakes and drinking hot chocolate ( oh how this is the life) and... scanning ebay for moses baskets funnily enough.

10 years since my last child so starting again from scratch. The cot i want from mamas and papas is on a 20 week waiting list and i havent ordered it yet ! eeeek. Im panicking now.

I don't see a problem with taking a baby in the shower... The earlier you do it, the better used to it they would be, Aimee used to have screaming heebies in my shower so I'll probably take this one in early to get it used to having the water showered on it...

I also think holding it would be fine, it's not like you're going to lather yourself up first... And babies don't really need soaps etc in the first few months, their skin is too delicate... In fact, Aimee only has soap if she has a shower with me now anyway, if she's in the bath, just the water is enough I think... She doesn't sweat so she doesn't smell...

Feeling a bit better, hubby got up about 9 so I went back to bed... Apart from Aimee deciding she needed to come and talk to me and then play in her room really loudly for an hour... I did manage to get some sleep...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

We got our crib second hand. It's a Stokke one that starts out a small cot, then turns into a bigger cot, then a lower cot, then a child's bed good till about 7 years, at which time we will sell it or refill it with model 2.0.

There's a history of early births in the family so I'm hoping to get everything done in plenty of time in case the occupant ends her tenancy earlier than predicted. She has everything she needs except a changing table/mat and a nursery, and I'm hoping that having everything else will spur her father on to organise the egress of all his [STRIKE]useless tat[/STRIKE] man toys from her room.

My car seat is a 21-25 day delivery so soon as we get back from our holiday I am going to order it. (should arrive when I am 30/31 weeks)

Decided I have enough baby stuff to do me for now anyway. Got a crib and will get a cot later on.
