Congrats to Karen1907 – hope the wedding goes well and the ms has stopped!

    Welcome and congrats to Maybebaby.

Elle – I went to Asda today and didn’t see anything reduced. On checking the Grabbit thread, it suggests that in some stores it doesn’t start until tomorrow, so I will try to nip along at lunchtime tomorrow too. I didn’t notice a special baby aisle, but will keep an eye open in case that’s where I went wrong! The normal aisle had very little in it, so that might make sense. Thanks!

Tarajayne – If I make it to Asda tomorrow, there is a Babies R Us next door, so will pop in there too and check if they have your cotbed in store if I have time (will be a mad dash on my lunch hour!!).

    Just reading over earlier posts....

One of the girls at my work was about 4 weeks ahead of me, and she had a miscarriage at around 12 weeks. I felt terrible for her, and I felt very upset and guilty. I made sure that she knew the day before my scan that I was going for it. When I came into the office after the scan, I quietly showed the people in my team my pictures, as I hadn’t told them beforehand. I made a point of going over to see the girl and showing her my pictures as I knew she wanted to see them and was still pleased for me. We both had a wee cry together. I am not a showy person, so haven’t made a big deal about it, but she asks me how I am getting on, and we sometimes sit together with others at lunch and she joins in the conversation and is genuinely happy for me.

I suppose it depends on the individual and how well you know the person. Perhaps also, if they have been trying for a long while or something then it would be worse. I do feel awkward, but I am sensitive to her feelings and usually let her lead any conversation. By the same token, there is no way she would expect me not to be happy or celebrate my joy at having a baby. And I don’t think she would want me tiptoeing around her too much. I suppose you just need to strike the right balance.

My SIL is going for another early scan tomorrow as she has been bleeding. I am dreading the news if she has miscarried as she is quite fragile anyway, and I think I would feel extremely awkward about the whole situation.
