Just spent the night catching up :eek:Cheers for this - very helpful with dates and template letter. I earn more than £123 per week.
What do people think of this?
My employment contract says 'See Mat Policy' - the policy indicates nothing about pay entitlement at all not even 'SMP only'. At the time of signing my contract kids werent on the agenda however I think it's quite unfair esp as other NHS organisations offer reasonable materinty packages.
I'm thinking of writing in my letter something along the lines of .......
Please advise me of any Occupational Maternity Pay that I may be entitled to. My contract points me to the ??????? company policy which does not indicate whether I will be paid SMP only or receive any additional pay during my time on Maternity leave. It was assumed that Maternity benefits would be offered at the industry norm which is 18 weeks SMP plus half pay however I would appreciate some clarification on this.what do we think - obviosuly it will be in bulk of letter stating when I wish to start Mat Leave.
MW's are here at work - just asked how I'm doing and I said I was a bit worried I'd still not felt movement but had at 16w! She's going to have a listen for me at the end of clinic - loving the extra stuff!!
Can't you just talk to someone in HR? We have a policy on maternity pay on our intranet but I know when I inform them I'm pregnant they will go through all my entitlements with me.
Iron *shudder* the Clean Bedding
You iron your bedding? I quite enjoy ironing - once I've started but I've never ironed bedding (apart from the pillow cases as they're so easy to do) I find if you just fold them carefully you don't get any noticeable creases and after a day I doubt anyone would notice anyway.
Phew!
In sympathy with everyone who isn't getting any. Between being at my parents' house in narrow single beds, being unable to get into our preferred positions and being horribly sick, there's been none for ages. We booked a hotel last week and went there (not only to do naked things but that was part of it...) and managed a quickie before passing right out from the stress of the last few weeks. Added to my misery is that my hormones are raging but I hate how my body looks, and although I know that my battery operated friend doesn't care that I am bloated and weird looking I can't reach properly to make it work.
This is a bit out of my comfort zone to talk about but have you tried the shower -. you don't have to hold the shower head close for a nice quickie.
Was panicking last night that I wasn't pregnant anymore because I though my tummy had actually decreased in size but sister reassured me it's normal at my stage.
