    OK, the reason I ask, is because a foof is a flange here and a fadge is potato bread.

    I asked my Welsh maternity cover guy today if he had tried wheaten bread, soda or fadge yet since he has been here and he nearly died laughing !!!

    I didnt have a clue what was funny !!!!!

    :rotfl::rotfl:How embarrasing!! :rotfl::rotfl:

    If you think they know it off by heart they shouldn't still be reading the same book - My mummy will be most angry with Aimee's teacher if that's the case (reading is her 'specialist subject';)) you should test her by covering the pictures or opening the book at random pages and asking her to read a certain word or find something with the same words and see if she can read it. If you like I can get the proper down low from my Mummy as we're going to an educational fair 2mo

    What would your mummy say if I told you that Jasmines reading word list came home this week with the word
    swum

    !!!!!! ???:confused:

    More for me than him when he had to explain what it meant in Wales !! I told him he could go into any bakery here and ask for fadge and no one would bat an eyelid, he said if a bloke did that in his town, they would get punched in the face !!!:eek:

    :eek:She wouldn't be happy :p I think it is actually now an accepted word but she's old school and thinks accepting 'wrong' spellings is wrong!!:D
