Eeeeeeeeeep!
Someone I know (of) has a wife who just had a baby. The labour ward was full, so they put her in the Gynaecology ward till she was all the way dilated. He wasn't allowed to use the toilet on the ward and was sent upstairs, but when he came down the nurse told him he wasn't allowed on the ward because it was outside visiting hours! Apparently she argued the odds with him till his wife started shouting for him and he walked away.

I'm very cheeky. On blue or brown bin weeks, we put our green one round the corner.
So it gets emptied every week! (but we give the bucky men an xmas fiver so they don't mind)

:eek::eek: OMG, just reminded me, as DD is getting married I'm gonna be a MIL, oh flip!!!
As for the nappies, can you imagine my wheelie bin after 2 weeks in the warm weather, phew!
I always put nappies in 2 nappy sacks before they go in the bin, but still a faint smell - been looking on a few sites for reuseables, but so many - how do you choose, how many do you buy, how do I convince DH...?
I recycle a fair amount, buy local food when I can & do other 'green' things, so I ought to give this a go, even if this will be the last bean, esp if they reckon I could save on average £400-700 over the 2-3 years.
Tia - I've been MIA the last couple of days, so it was a big shock to see people's bad news.
Searching - someone nicked my name too! Somewhere on MSE there's a 'cheepskate' - what a pair of copycats, eh?!July 2024 GC £0.00/£400

Mrs T, I was in the shop yesterday and was really impressed with the Pop-in. It has adjustable poppers so it can be small for a newborn and as baby grows you go to the next set so that it goes right up to toddler. Lady I know uses the same ones for her 8mth old and 2yr old. Around the leg is an extra panel for when they move around and fastenings are vecro so sits snuggly aroung the tummy the same as a disposable. Pack of 10 were £99.Too many children, too little time!!!0

Our black bin goes on the landfill lorry that only comes once a fortnight so no other option. Recycling goes once a week. As a family with kids we never even asked for one of the bigger black bins and have always managed to recycle enough to stick to the same one as all the elderly couple around here use. It was a great lesson in food wastage when we got the food waste bin, makes you much more aware of not putting leftovers in the bin, it's a weekly topic here to see which of 2 of our neighbours can bin the most each week.
