I'm considering refusing both (vit K on the basis that if all newborns have low vit K levels then they are probably supposed to) and the placenta one on the basis that I want to do it all naturally and I trust my body to be able to get the placenta out in its own time.
Am I on my own with this? Anyone else want to deliver the placenta without the injection?
I actually had haemorrhagic (sp) disease of the newborn myself from low vit k levels - what the injection stops. Meant I spent 2.5 weeks in SCBU and had a vicar come in for goodbyes. Therefore I take the view my kids all have the injection!
